Windows 10 has seemingly dropped the xbox brand name from their xboxmusic and xboxvideo apps.

This is just another addition to a long list of Microsoft differentiating itself from the xbox brand.

Just for the sake for clarity, it makes sense to drop the brand name, but at the same time, it's also -dropping the brand name.

Not long now folks.

In all honest this need to be done. I've meant numerous people who still mix up the brands. Not everything Microsoft is Xbox.

This is for Windows ten. You mean the pc's that have nothing to do with Xbox. 

Not really considering how long they have been trying to push it. No matter if you like it or not MS WILL sell Xbox eventually unless they drastically change their business model (probably not going to happen)

They have been pushing the "Xbox" name on everything for ages. It is very relevant 

I would have agreed if this had never been the case.

Completely opposite to Sony, who are rebranding a lot of their media to Playstation, like Music Unlimited to Playstation Music.

That makes sense, Sony is tieing everything to Playstation because it's their strongest brand. Microsoft is not served well by doing the same with Xbox.

As always all eyes on Microsoft.
