The PS4’s new exclusive already has a speedrun to be feared, as a gamer takes advantage of various glitches to beat it in less than an hour.
Bloodborne is a big game, and it’s going to take most people dozens of hours to complete it. Especially since as well as it’s size and intricacy, it’s a lot harder than the average game.
But although 40 minutes and 17 seconds (44 minutes with loading) sounds impossible, that’s exactly what player Oginam is claiming, and he’s got the YouTube video to prove it.
He takes advantage of a number of glitches, which may or may not be fixed later on, to perform the feat, and which allow him to skip around half of the game.
That’s not as unusual as it seems as Dark Souls and Dark Souls II had similar exploits, and so do many big name games – if you know where to find them.
He also makes use of a bug that allows him to clone powerful items, making the game considerably easier than it otherwise would be.
Speedrunning is a popular past time but generally falls into two camps: those that complete a game as fast as possible without cheating and those that primarily make use of glitches. There’s usually a grey in-between, but this one seems to be almost entirely reliant on bugs.
In fact Oginam admits he slipped up during his current speedrun and can definitely do it quicker than 40 minutes.
