Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will Nintendo Ramp Up Budget/Scope on Star Fox?

Will Star Fox be awesome?

Yes, it will fill the voi... 18 26.09%

No, it's probably still ... 32 46.38%

Yes, because it's Star Fox. 19 27.54%

Total:69

Yes, I cried in a corner for awhile over the Nintendelay of Zelda U...  I even took out my pain on Twitter uses with sarcasm to mask the pain, the deep, deep, life-altering pain.  It was like a knife in the back! NINTENDO HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?!?!

Okay, just kidding, it didn't hurt THAT bad.  BUT, it did make me wonder:

Star Fox has been announced as a title intending to launch before Zelda.  However, we haven't seen anything from it yet, and we probably all fairly share the same belief that it will be shown at E3.  However, for all that's been shown and said, Star Fox sounded like a budget title on the scale of Captain Toad and Kirby: short development time; focus on the Gamepad; mini-games shown with Star Fox logos; etc.

Now that Zelda is most likely not going to make 2015, do you think they are ramping up the scope of Star Fox in its place?  Do you think Star Fox will be a AAA budget title instead?  All evidence points to "no", but... Thoughts?

No. If they were still looking for a dev last year and they're expecting it to come out this year, there's no way it's anything more than a budget title.

Probably around the same budget as Pikmin 3...

I think it is too late

I'm expecting more than a budget title but since we know nothing really, it's all speculation

Considering the show dev cycle, I doubt this game will be very expansive. Might even be released in episodes.

That's actually... not a bad plan at all!

They CAN increase the scope, but to get it released on-time to start out with, an episodic nature could buffer the development time to achieve it.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ^_^;

I don´t thint that Star Fox 64 was a very expensive game. It´s just a saga that doesn´t need the higest budget.

I think is going to be bigger than we think. Not an AAA game but bigger than Captain Toad.

Eh, Pikmin 3 had a decent budget, especially considering its development time...

You can easily tell by the presentation values, too!

Star Fox 64 was actually rather expansive (I assume that's what you meant) when you consider the times and technology.  Hell, it even made the Rumble Pack popular!

I think Xenoblade Chronicles X will be the big game this holiday.
