Forums - Gaming Discussion - PlayStation TV Sales Up 1,272% On Amazon Since Price Cut

PlayStation TV sales appear to have skyrocketed following the device's price cut earlier this week.

According to Amazon data, sales of the device have increased by 1,272 percent over the last 24 hours, making it the 11th most popular item in the retailer's PC & Video Games category. It previously ranked at No.151.

Sony officially dropped the price of PlayStation TV by almost 50 per cent on Friday, reducing it from £84.99 to £44.99.

PlayStation TV allows users to play select PS Vita, PSP and PSOne titles directly through the device provided they have a compatible controller, or stream PS4 titles to another TV within the same home.

How much did in increase in sales by in terms of UNITS as percentages like this can be very very misleading?

So it could have moved from selling 10 units to 127? Such a misleading stat to use, percentage increase. Especially for something that was essentially dead in the water.

Still, I'm glad the price drop was effective. I think the ps tv is a great device and people should buy it. However, all these price drops the ps tv are getting feels more like precursor to liquidation rather then an actual attempt by Sony to make the system viable...

He mentions it's up to 11th (now 10th) in the bestseller section which indicates how good its selling better. Plus the percentage indicates the postion increase rather than units sold.
