Forums - Gaming Discussion - My TV died, need a replacement, what brands are good these days?

I've recently got a Sony BRAVIA KDL-42W805B, especially because it has a very low input lag. I was in doubt between this one and another from Samsung H6400 serie, but I've decided to get Sony's. No complaints so far.

Imo Sony make the best tv's but they are a bit more expensive in most cases. LG and Samsung are good brands too.

LG would be the best bet. Samsung are getting too gimmicky and I would avoid Sony for lack of reliability.

Crazy.

Well I perosnally would go at least 40inch. Slightly more expensive but your three options would be

Multiple reports place Sony TVs at the top in terms of reliability. They have one of the longest life expectancies.

Samsung/LG you get a lot for your money but their prices have been creeping up. My 2 previous TV's were Samsungs and my experience is that if you want to get a lot of TV for your money then Samsung/LG are ok. Sony TV are better and if you shop about and maybe get an older/discontinued model you can find some great deals. Bought 50" LED Sony TV (which I own now) for £500 and the quality of build and quality of UI and UI speed is better.

One user ready linked to the 800B Sony set, which comes in at just 6ms input lag.

OP would be paying more than initially wanted, but they get 42" (which is bigger than they had) and top in class I put lag, making is the best choice for gaming.
