There are a billion threads/articles talking about either a) Zelda U being delayed being an awesome thing due to *insert multiple arguments* or b) Zelda U being delayed is horrible due to *insert multiple arguments*. That is NOT the purpose of this thread. This thread is to focus on that one specific statement that was made; "several new possibilities for this game." I trust Nintendo to not delay a game just for the lulz/just to have it for launch of a new device. While,  yes, it may be a launch title for the NX (and release on Wii U), they wouldn't delay it simply for that. They could want to utilize new hardware to INCLUDE new features, or they could have come up with ideas that the Wii U can do that requires an overhaul of the entire game. Let's discuss some possibilities here:

1) They could be changing the art style considerably/completely.

2) They could be waiting for NX to be finalized so that they can have the same visuals/gameplay on both the Wii U version as well as the NX version. The two devices will be able to connect in very specific and impactful ways.

3) They had an idea to include some massive feature into the game that they didn't originally visualize and that would blow us all out of the water (Making the whole world and everything in it is a destructible environment, for example. Or maybe they want to take some ideas from Hyrule Warriors and allow you to play as someone other than Link. Or maybe they want to truly making it feel like your fighting a war for a kingdom and you have to slaughter quite a lot more enemies than typical Zelda games and they are thinking of a way to add that to the game in order to make it feel a lot more like a real war for Hyrule.

4) The game is going to have a LOT more online connection than expected. It will be able to be accessed, in some form or another, from Wii U/NX/mobile/PC. Maybe on your phone you can see a town got taken over by a bunch of enemies and you get an alert to come back and liberate it (Animal Crossing updates without playing it, why can't Zelda?).

5) Maybe they are going to take their 2 layered world mentality (A link to the past, between worlds, twilight princess, parts of Skywar Sword) and make more than 2. Maybe each of the pieces we need (I'm sure we will have to go on a quest to collect something like 8 shards of a holy necklace or something lol) will, each, in a different layer of the same massive world. Imagine hunting for piece 8 in a world that is extremely blue by nature, then go on to get piece 5 in a world that looks very yellow by nature. I give very simple examples but just imagine what Nintendo could do with utilizing multiple asthetic/art style differences within it's own game. Arkham Cities scanner/detective mode is a breathtaking example of what I'm talking about.

6) I have my own idea for what feature(s) may be included and I shall share it now!

Well, what say you? Again, this isn't meant to be a discuss of things that don't have to do with what specific "possibilities" the man is talking about. Nintendo doesn't really lie when it says it's found out a new feature to include so I'm not going to think that now. What do you think they are going to pull? What does Nintendo have up its sleeve that we weren't expecting?

Hard to tell but clearly something major happened since they aren't showing shit at e3. Maybe they are finally changing link to female and they are incorporating breast physics for the first time! Or maybe they are finally giving Zelda VA and they need to redo a lot of the dialogue and stuff! Hard to say though

I think they are just filling it up with more and more quests, changes to story, more dramatic events, more ideas of what's happening, more races being seen aka snowpeak yeti's, shiekhah, zora ect.

There's nothing to think about. It's just PR speak. The game was announced too early and isn't close to being finished, so it was delayed.

The first of your theories isn't true, I don't believe. Reason 1) It wouldn't take you months/a year to incorporate a different gender and breasts lol but I think you know that. Reason 2) Nintendo want Link to be a male and Zelda to be a female. They aren't going to have Linket save Zelda because they are a very conservative company in a very conservative country that does not support things like homosexuality (or really, sexuality in general) and having a female save another female (and have a strong relationship of some kind) would imply that a little too much for their liking probably. They are a family friendly company and the games THEY make THEY know that the familes expect them to make games that they will find safe for their kids. I'm not saying this is or isn't my opinion (I certainly have thoughts on this, but I'm not sharing them here), but I do believe it is Nintendo's perspective.

The second of your theories I could see happening and taking a huge amount of time.

What they had wasn't reaching their high expectations so they delayed the game to rework some aspects of the title.

This is exactly what I (multiple times) pointed out I DID NOT want to have people say on this thread. Nintendo doesn't just lie about including new features. They are the KINGS of new features (some so innovative that they have failed miserably; power glove, virtual boy). If they say they are delaying it due to exciting new possibilities, I believe them and so should you. I don't see any evidence, based on their past, that could make me want to assume this is a "PR speak."

I want 12 or more dungeons or an extremely well thought out over world if this is going to the biggest Zelda game ever made.

I'm still amazed that, besides a LBW, a LttP has the most dungeons in the series.

They can't show a 30 second trailer even after 4 years of development?

I'm sorry but that's just bull sh*t.

Well, I was joking about the whole female thing but I don't think the reasons you stated would really be the reasons why Link won't be female (at least not all of them anyway). Cause firstly, they would have to change many aspects of the game in order for a female Link to work like the dialogue for example as well as many aspects of the story provided it is a sudden change. On top of that, I do agree that they don't want any homo and they want it to be family friendly but that doesn't mean that Link can't be female while still making it be family friendly. Zelda can be Link's sister and she got kidnapped by gannondorf (kind of like in WW) or Zelda can be Link's best friend or Zelda can be male and there are tons of ways they can make Link female without going into the non-family-friendly realm. Not saying they will actually make Link female but I don't think its sooooo out there that Nintendo can't do it without affecting their image or the franchise's integrity
