But extremely good. Far from Galaxy, but a great Mario.

In many ways, it's better than Galaxy. No one's arguing its quality. I'm merely clarifying its catagory. It's an isometric platformer. Not in the same catagory as 64, Sunshine, or the Galaxies. That doesn't mean it's worse, that just means it's different.

This whole stupid debate could have been avoided if Nintendo just named the first game "Super Mario Iso Land" or something. People don't understand that the "3D" in the title means stereoscopic 3D, not 3D platformer.

I'm fine with Nintendo splitting the main Mario series into 3 seperate series.

New Super Mario

Super Mario 3D

Super Mario Galaxy

With a unified approach this becomes more possible, instead of making 2 New Super Mario games along with 2 Super Mario 3D games like they did this generation they could in the future make 1 of each of the 3 series.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I really doubt this, WiiU sales have been consistantly modeocre, Nintendo won't replace the WiiU prematurely. 3DS will be replaced first, sales are dropping.

I wouldn't mind three different formats, but I have a real problem with the lack of identity that the NSMB games have. They just feel like level packs with a different gimmick. With the old 3D games, each new game felt different, with a different overarching motif. After Super Mario World 1+2 though, it feels like that torch was passed onto the 3D games with 64, and never returned.

When they make a new 2D game, I want them to have a stronger identity than just "another 2D Mario." Galaxy is Mario in space. Sunshine is Mario on vacation. 64 is Mario in a painting-filled castle. SMB3 is Mario in a stage play. Bring that back to the 2D games, and honestly, introduce that into the isometric games, because they are in danger of being level packed too. The only distinction between Land and World was the Cat Suit and the jazz soundtrack. They could have given the entire game an overarching jazz motif, and they did in a few minor cases, but mostly they opted out for just making it an HD level pack of Land with a much better soundtrack. Beautiful, and a fantastic game, but lacking in a solid identity.

He doesn't see Super Mario 3D World as a proper Mario game.

No, I don't consider it a proper 3D Mario game. It's an isometric platformer. You move on a fixed, isometric grid in a fixed, isometric map. Just because it uses 3D polygons doesn't mean it's a 3D platformer, just like NSMBU using 3D polygons doesn't suddenly make it a 3D platformer.

That's what I meant.

Its not obvious especially since we still dont know anything at all about NX

That said it is a possibility

I can't fathom why soundwave doesn't want to be cautious, the necro-bump will be harsher if he turns out to be wrong, because of his utter certainty!

We don't even know if nx is a home console and in my opinion it is highly likely a handheld for Japan first  as New 3ds will have complete two years  in late 2016 there(And a little bit later for the west)! Also wii was teased in 2004 and released in 2006(If you know what I mean)!

Lastly NX tease was for the reason I said somewhere and Iwata confirmed me!

“The reason why I announced ‘NX,’ which by the way, is not directly related to our alliance with DeNA, was because I wanted to avoid any misunderstandings such as, ‘Nintendo might have lost its passion for the dedicated game system business,’ and because I wanted many people to understand that Nintendo will continue its dedicated game system business with even stronger passion and motivation. I am sorry, but as I said during the press conference yesterday, we cannot make any further announcements about ‘NX’ until next year.

You're getting a little lost in translation. "Game system" in Japan specifically refers to home console, not handheld.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Possibly, though I doubt it.

I don't even think the next home console will be released in 2016. My guess is that the NX is the next handheld.

I'm with you. Iwata said at one point they wouldn't give up on the Wii-U until its consumer's felt satisified. That OBVIOUSLY infers an exclusive Zelda.

That'd be the dumbest idea ever. Nintendo doesn't survive on dumb ideas

I think the fact it won't be shown in E3 supports this theory, as many changes could be possible.
