Forums - Nintendo Discussion - SO, what will be the Wii U's Big Holiday/End of Year Game?

I'm pretty sure they can rush an Amiibo game to market. Let it work with a few Amiibos at first, then other characters can come online in the following months with new levels/areas.

Starfox and Mario Maker for Japan and XCX and Mario Maker for U.S. Starfox will not release this year in the west.

The muthuffaka link collection.

A remastered with all Zelda games, released on 20 November 2015.

Triforce MasterSword Collection

Maybe Pokken will be a full fledged RPG on the Wii U. Maybe I'm talking right out my ass.

Actually, if Pokken makes it by holiday, that would be a help. XCX+Star Fox+Pokken+$250 could be enough to get them through the holidays with solid sales and if Zelda is first half 2016, that would be all they need.

I think we've all kinda forgotten too that those Project: Giant Robot and Project: Guard demos that Nintendo did have continually been listed as seperate games for the Wii U even in the most recent release lists.

So those could be 2016 titles that will show up at E3 with a new IP/concept over them (seperate from Star Fox).

I very much doubt they have an ace up their sleeves considering how candid they have been with announcing titles this gen. Star Fox if that comes out this year. Where is the footage? If not that...Yarn Yoshi. Let that sink in.

Wooly World is suppose to be out during the Summer, at least in Europe.

Judging from the wording they have something though how engaging it is will be up to Nintendo and E3. But my thoughts whould probally be like FE x SMT they may bank on that in view on how well Awakening did.

You're kidding, right? Hyrule Warriors was announced 8 months before release. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker was announced at E3 2014 and released by the end of 2014. Zelda: LBW was announced in April 2013 for a November release. Mario & Luigi: Dream Team was announced in February 2013 and released in July. Nintendo announced Wind Waker HD in January 2013 and it was out by September. Mario Party: Island Tour was announced in April 2013 and released in November.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was announced at E3 2013 and was planned at that time for release in December (it subsequently got pushed back to February). Similarly, Mario Golf: World Tour was announced in February 2013 for a second-half release (it got delayed to 2014, though).

But let's look at a few of the extreme cases. Majora's Mask 3D was announced in November 2014 and released in February - that's just three months. NES Remix for Wii U was announced in December 2013... and released on the same day! Its sequel was announced in February 2014 and released in April, two months later. Kirby: Triple Deluxe was announced in October 2013 and released (in Japan) in January 2014. Pokemon Battle Trozei was announced in February 2014 for release in March.

Nintendo's habit of keeping a heap of things close-to-the-chest hasn't changed this gen at all. They've always revealed some things early, and some things late. There's always a few big surprises, like LBW, DKC:TF, or Majora's Mask 3D. To think that won't be true this year, especially after Iwata explicitly said there were unannounced games for 2015 last month, is just bizarre.

Maybe they'll announce one at E3 idk

bet: lost

star fox will be what nintendo pushes to be the "big title", But it's not. It's the only title they have that will be marketable though. They are about to take a pretty big hit on their q4 sales. I didn't think it'd come to this, but they may want to either A. consider another price drop, or B. come up with one hell of a bundle. Maybe nsmbu+mario3dworld?
