After hearing the news I was completely frustrated with the annoucement until i watch Auorama talk about it and then i understand why they are delaying it. My examples are Mario Kart 8, and this years Splatoon. delaying the Zelda game to release in 2016 gives two things a system seller for 2016 around the same date those later two were mentioned .  Plus,now we know NX is the next handheld, reason why Iwata is saying hardware when he talks about it. Iwata says Wii U is here to stay and with releasing Zelda in 2016 it is proof.

With titles like StarFox XenoBlade, Yoshi's Woolly WOrld, and SPLATOON beinG released this year Nintendo needed a big release for next year to keep the WIi U 's momenteum. Nintendo always knows this is a marathon not a sprint and this delay proves it. I'm excited to here this news for the future of  the Wii U

It does sort of lean towards the idea that the NX is going to be a handheld, thats for sure but it still suckzzzz! I was already planning my chirstmas for this! I really hope they show something epic at e3 (since Zelda wont be there either T_T)

Not even close to correct. There's no reason to believe that the NX is a handheld and it's probably coming out next year. Zelda U is nothing more than the Wii U's swan song at this point.

ZELDA U AND POKKEN FIGHTERS!

Nintendo just wants a chance to launch this game cross platform with a new system, that's all there is to it. They don't want a game this big to release only on a system with a small install base.

Problem is that they didn't delay it to have something for next year.
And even if they did it with that reason in mind, it wouldn't necessarily be good for the game or Wii U.

Wii U needs a system seller for the holiday season, and of the coming games, the one that already proved to be that, was Zelda.
If i remember correctly, there really wasn't much from Nintendo in 2011 despite Zelda SS.

If somehow that is what is happening with Zelda U, there' s a high risk that the lost in momentum by Wii U and lack of (meaningful) games might actually influence the game's sales.

It's sad yes and i was dumb founded at first ,but it's OK, LIKE DolPhanTendo has stated it does sound like the Wii U is not going anywhere for some time..

I guess we have Splatoon and X and the Star Fox title ( hope this keeps a 2015 Release) if release of Splatoon and Yoshi's Woolly World is still the second quarter of 2015 then Nintendo needs to show something at E3 that is coming this year.. They can not just have StarFox in the latter part of the year, I'm not including 'X' as it's not as mainstream a title as Zelda,Though 'X' is a must buy for me ..

But then i sit back and realise that we have other titles on Wii U to come like Lego Jurassic Park (which looks awesome) and the Marvel Avengers Lego to. We also have Legend of Kay anniversary ,which is up for preorder on Amazon UK for under £20. Then ''Rodeo the Sky Soldier '' which is another game i am looking forward to.

Driving fans will eventually lay their hands on ''Project Cars'' when they reveal a release date for Wii U and after the delays I'm sure it will be a improvement on the demo i played at Eurogamer EGX last year. But i do think Nintendo need another two retail titles to bolster out the end of the year..

Though there's lots of Indies coming which is fine, but indies are not on shop shelves and don't sell on online shop sites . They need product that gets the Wii U noticed..

Nintendo the time is NOW.

Though in the end I'm sure when ZELDA does arrive it will be the best game ever and probably be made by those Carlsberg guys Because to be this Good Takes AGES , Shame Sega never took their own advice but it seems Nintendo are ..
