You know what game wasn't delayed, infact, released about a month earliest than it should? SSBU. And that clearly was an incomplete buggy game. Specially since it was released alone, with no other version on a completely different console.

To be fair, a giant open world adventure game is a much bigger project than a 2D brawler.
Not to devalue Smash or anything, but I'm sure its development was smooth sailing in comparison.

but I'm sure that isn't the reason they delayed it as they aren't even showing anything at E3 which means some big changes are being done
