Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Could Zelda's delay help other Wii U games sales?

Oh, still no. In fact, a system seller like Zelda will entice people to try new games, and considering the game is delayed some may have the perception that there are many few more games for release. Nintendo needs something big and I expect Animal Crossing, a game that sells a lot more than Zelda.

yeah hopefully they can annouced something at E3 for the holidays that can move units during the holiday's like a new 3D Mario, Metroid or Animal Crossing.

With this NIntendo you can bet no more 3D Mario or any Metroid on Wii U.

It could maybe. With Zelda out of the way, there are less games to fill the gap. Maybe that'll spur owners to buy anything just to full the void that was Zelda's release date. Maybe X will get the love it deserves...

I think it will. Nintendo will probably market them even more than they would because they won't be marketing Zelda. So I feel like games like Xenoblade, Splatoon, Devil's Third, Star Fox, Mario Maker and etc will all get more marketing treatments to show people just because Zelda isn't coming this year, doesn't mean all these other amazing games aren't.

that is true cause imagine that Nintendo didn't market Bayonetta 2 that much was cause of them focusing on marketing Pokemon and both version of Smash Bros.

They actually marketed Bayonetta 2 quite a bit, but it was over looked by Smash since they were releasing so close together.

i just didn't feel ike it was as much as they should have though if say that Zelda was originally set for November and Xenoblade was set for October then they would have no choice but to market Xenoblade big time.

Xenoblade was not set for October. In fact, it hasn't been set at all. It is most likely going to be a summer release. (June, July or August)

It will obviously hurt game sales lol. BADLY. Zelda is a "killer app" which means more people buy the system. Less people buying the system = less people buying software. How can anyone think this is even close to a positive for the Wii U? Haha

i'm talking about existing owners not future's cause its obivous that Wii U sales are going to be bad this holiday.

I'm expecting the announcement of some big title. I don't consider any of the confirmed 2015 WiiU titles a system-seller... I think we can expect a surprise sooner than later.
