Well the price drop happened in the holidays, so the effect won't be as big as it would have been in a non holiday month. I do agree March will be down. MS didn't have anything for this month. I'm expecting the $299 price along with a new slim model in a non holiday month. As shown with the 360 and PS3, that causes big sale spikes in the launch month and huge holiday sales. 2016 will have Scalebound, Gears, Crackdown, Quantum Break, Phantom Dust, and more. 2016 is looking to be a pretty good year for MS 1st party games. 2018 is a bit early I think for a successor. I'd say holiday 2019, giving the Xbox One 1 more year of relevent sales. |
I don't think that Crackdown, Scalebound, and Phantom Dust will move many console, it can help for a week or two, and not by much.
The bigger released are Gears of War, that will sell many console, and Quantum Break, another good released.
But i think that the Quantum Break delayed can hurt the sales (not by a lot all considering), and MS will probabily make a Gears collection this holiday, that can hurt the Gears 4 boost, because some Gears fan, if this collection will really coming, can buy a XBO for the collection, and i am some of this people. (yeah, if this November MS make a Gears collection i sure buy a XBO, if not, i expect Gears 4).
For the pricedrop question: a 299,99$ can help, but not more than the -100$ pricedrop happen last June... and yeah, for quote Super6646, i know that it wasn't a 100% pricedrop, because have removed kinect, but still... and don't forget that when XBO will be at 299,99$, even PS4 will probabily have a pricedrop, 349,99$ or even 299,99$, that will be a problem for XBO...
For the XB720 released, well, if will coming in 2019 i see XBO to sell other 2,500,000/3,000,000 in the US.
