Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Iwata Asks: Xenoblade Chronicles 3D

The translator of the interview maybe did. Are hot cakes popular in Japan?

Hell if I know. It seems like a really casual expression for an Iwata Asks for some reason.

The entire first page is pretty much just Iwata and Takahashi laughing about how Xenoblade is way better than every other JRPG released in the past 15 years, so this episode is off to a weird start anyway.

That was a fun read. It sounds like the team put a lot of heart into their work. Hopefully everything they worked to put in it translates to a really good game. As it was said in the interview "It would be a shame to miss this one."

Did Iwata really use the phrase "sell like hot cakes?"

He probably said it will sell like schoolgirls panties...

Looking forward to picking this game up seeing as though I never played it on the Wii. Glad to see the heart that was put into this game, and even the 3D version. This series has so much potential.

Like octopi, most probably...

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Takahashi:

"But now we can play Xenoblade Chronicles on the New Nintendo 3DS XL, and...now, this may sound a little egotistical, but I thought, "This is really going to raise the bar for RPGs on portable devices.

 Takahashi:    (laughs)

I see he cheekily says that the only different is the resolution. He clearly thought his words through carefully there. That could easily be interpreted as meaning screen resolution, which is obviously different given the transition to handheld. But of course he also means texture resolution. Sign of a good businessman. Lying without lying.

Geez... now that i ended up getting the Zelda special edition 3DS its gonna get difficult not to double dip. Such a great game...
