Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Splatoon 1080p 60fps? And If so what does this say about Nintendo's future titles on Wii U?

Meh. Play the game, enjoy it. If it were to run at 480i it likely wouldn't hinder your enjoyment of the game at all... Some older games haven't aged well at all, but it doesn't stop loads of people from enjoying them like crazy. Like Goldeneye... Wow, that has not aged well. But it's still fun as hell.

I never doubted that :P I was just curious if they managed to get it up to 1080p, but either way the game looks amazing grpahically and gameplay-wise.

I get what you are saying, but it becomes nothing more than fodder for the next console argument. Although, I'm sure that isn't your point behind it.

I sit about 10-12 feet away from my TV, personally, I can't notice much of a difference between 720 or 1080p at this distance. I always wonder how close people sit that are so worried about this stuff. When I'm about 4 feet away I can notice it, but not from this far. I don't wear glasses and I have 'perfect' eyesight according to my optometrist.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

I'm not looking for arguments between console owners, in fact, i really hate that :P I too sit a fair distance from my TV,a and I too don't see a substantial difference between the two resolutions, especially with AA. I was just wondering if it actually managed to get to that resolution, but wasn't completely sure since i'm not an expert on things like that :P

Is there any Wii U game that's 1080p60 without being on a 2D plane or a remake/last gen port?

I don't even think there are any on PS4 so I doubt there will be on Wii U.

720p60fps.

Though I could argue that technically Smash does render 3D models and stages etc. , I can see where you're coming from. I wasn't trying to convince people that it is 1080p, I was curious to see if it could be that, though it probably doesn't seem to be the case, although it would be cool if they upscaled it at least :P

1080p isn't a issue anymore. Since the twins struggle with it there is no point in trying to push the Wii U to that resolution. The frame rate news is wonderful though. It means that the gameplay will be the focus.

No. I believe almost every game is 720p, with the exception of TWWHD (1080p30fps) and Smash, but you know.

Please look up what upscaled means. Of course it is upscaled or else you would only see a tiny square on your screen with big black bars on all sides. Upscaling in no way improves image quality, it just makes it bigger. In fact, if your distance to the screen doesn't change it makes the graphics worse because the aliasing and bad textures become more apparent.

People should stop chasing the 1080p60 since clearly none of the consoles is built for that. At least when it's paired with good graphics.

Ok ok, thanks for telling me :)

Again, i'm not begging for the game to be 1080p 60fps, I hope I do not need to repeat that. I was just being curious.

60 Frames is Awesome!

Wish we'd have more next gen games at 60.
