Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Ocarina of Time ever Be Surpassed and When?

Ocarina of Time is like the Citizen Kane/The Godfather of gaming. It may get old and outdated, but still always ranked close to 1.

The Last of Us is now considered the greatest game of all time.

The Last of Us isn't even the greatest PS3 game released in 2013 lol.....

And what game would that be? The Last of Us practically got Game of the Year award from every major gaming sites that year. But that brings up the point of subjectivity. Just because a lot of critics praise a game, it should not be seen as a factual statement. So whatever the critics thought of TLOU shouldn't change your view in what you think is the best game.

Personally I didn't really care for Ocarina of Time and, in my mind, plenty of game have exceeded it today.

Grand Theft Auto V for starters.

The Last of Us is a wanna-be emotional movie that thinks it's cool with some weird shooting/stealth scenes in between. Nothing more. On the other hand Ocarina of Time changed gaming.

No game will ever get a 100 on Metacritic, even if the game is total perfection there is going to be that one reviewer that gives it a 99

The Last of US beat GTAV in terms of GOTY awards.

OMG this gif is WTF!

The game was revolutionary in many ways, and completely changed gaming. It might get surpassed when a great, revolutinary virtual reality game gets released. I don't think any game just played on a tv will surpass it. It's like a Citizen Kane or the Beatles in that sense.

NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii, WiiU, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS, Mega Drive, Game Gear, PS1, PS2, PSP, XBOX 360, Atari Lynx

I don't know why but every time that play this I feel kind of depressed. I don't really like OOT. On the other hand I really like the Zelda franchise specially link to the past, Oracle of Seasons MM, and the best imo WW.

When the people here will understand that there is a much better tool that Metacritic on the web for video games ?

OoT is 97,54% with 28 reviews, which is already incredible. 99 is just impossible if the review selection is "fair".
