What a bunch of morons.

They're inflicting a massive hit on their wallet over a little punch (Boohoo a swollen lip is it?) and some swearing. Directed at an assistant producer no less. No offense to him, but he's a nobody in this equation. If it had been one of Clarkson's co-hosts or the head producer or something of that nature ya, you have a problem, but an assistant producer? Who the fuck cares? I'd have sooner replaced that guy than Clarkson.

God forbid the BBC starts exhibiting morals...

The IT Crowd is another one I like

I've been hearing good things about a show called Gogglebox, but it's not on BBC, Channel 4 I think. There really aren't many British shows left that I like now, most of them have ran their course. And now Top Gear is likely to die as well. Dissapointing for sure.

Same, I just watch reruns on Netflix. Now all I have to look forward to is Top Gear's Canada special. After that there isn't much to interest me :/

#1 Amb-ass-ador

The guy was funny, but a racist bully. He punched the executive producer in the face and ranted for 20 minutes. I think he needs psychological help.

Ya cus they're usually such a moral bunch, covering up child molestation if it suits them but let's draw the line at a man punching another man right?

You run a business and you're gonna ok losing millions upon millions of dollars, and fans over a swollen lip to an assistant producer then you shouldn't be running any business, cus you clearly have no damn sense in your head

So you believe that the UK government/people of the UK should pay this mans salary? An aggressive, racist man who committed a crime (again) and will do so again. He doesn't suit the BBC and would be better off with netflix or someone else.

I would like to hear Clarkson's side of the story. He never seemed like a violent person.  Maybe he was starving? If only...

You can point to probably at least half of anyone working on TV/movies/etc and find some dumb or offensive shit they did. If you're someone running a business faced with the decision of hiring any one of these people the only questions that matters are "Is it good for business? How does it affect our image?"

Well let's see. Clarkson (and his co-hosts who are also out without him) make Top Gear what it is, this is clear since in such a short time people started a petition with over a million signatures to bring him back. So....the people, BBC's fans love him, which means not only does keeping him on resonate with your audience, but you also know that you will not lose millions upon millions of dollars overhauling the show with new hosts.

It's just that simple. You don't have to like the man personally, but they made a terrible business decision.

How do we know the guy Jeremy Clarkson punched wasn't being an utter cunt? He probably deserved it.

Always found Jezza thoroughly entertaining and Top Gear will never be the same without him, the BBC may as well cancel the show because no matter who replaces him, it's dead, over, done, finished...

R.I.P Top Gear.

Why are people defending Clarkson? He beat up a guy FFS...

He was with the BBC for decades, turned himself in and the guy who got hit seemed to want to work it out too so this could have been solved in a much better way.

LOOOOL

In what world do you hit your boss and keep your job? Just because y'all like him it doesn't mean he is above  anyone else. Considering this isn't the first time he's been in trouble, everyone blaming the BBC really need to  stop and think for a second. Its sends a terrible message out to the world if you let someone be dick and get away with no repercussions just because they're entertaining to watch. It may be a shame and I'm sure the BBC hated that it came to this but its only fair, no one to blame but him.

Do you really believe this line? Do you think that everyone in the world is treated the same? Sure Clarkson (54) could well have not hit Oisin (35) in the face over it, he could have used his popularity and pull within the show to have the guy fired and use his ties to make it so that he could never work again like most would, or as with a lot of people who have power/money simply have his staff/security rough the guy up for him.

Do I think Clarkson was right here, no of course not, but the BBC should have settled this in another fashion, the guy who was punched in the face is now the Director of a show which is effectively dead in the water, so their resolution to him being punched by a 54 year old has more or less cost him his job working on the highest grossing show on the BBC (afaik)

From what I understand Sky have been offering the trio of presenters of Top Gear better and better offers to come and work with them for the last number of years now, I would think considering Clarksons current unemployment he isn't in a great bargaining position but I can't imagine it will be long before he is back with his audience and on a network more likely to allow him be a lot more arrogant than he was on the BBC.

This is not the first time he's assaulted someone physically.

Interesting bit of info, but everyone deserves a chance to tell their side of the story and I want to hear it.
