Forums - Gaming Discussion - Comparing Wii U game library to PS4 & X1

Didn't people say there was a drought for Wii U? Which is it? Was Nintendo releasing games or not. Anyway there are a handful of 85+ retail exclusive games on the Wii U while PS4 has one. Since I have a PC multiplats are bought on that. People always mention how PS4 and XBO have exclusives over PC, but I am not seeing it this generation. Why should I as a PC gamer get a PS4 to play one game - Bloodborne. When I can ge a Wii U instead and play a at least five >85 exclusive games.

In the OP i said that it took them a long time to get all of their games out and now they have a great library. Allow Sony and MS to do the same.

That's if you value metacrtic. I played both Driveclub (71) and Resogun (85) and I enjoyed both but I enjoy Driveclub (still play it to this day) leagues more than resogun which the law of metacritic shouldn't allow. But people have personal preference.

Personally, the best games I've played thus far this gen are multiplats, with one or two exceptions (what can I say, I have a soft spot for InFamous...)

It's all dependent on context and preference.

- If you're discussing the ability to produce 1st party games of each of the company in the 8th gen then it's only fair to compare with aligned launches (so removing the last year for the Wii U)
- In a discussion about which console currently has the best software lineup then you consider all games available for all consoles.
- Most important of all, no matter how hard you try to argue with Metacritic scores, number of games, 1st vs 3rd party, in the end it comes down to gaming preferences and there's no definite answer to the question "Which 8th gen console has the best software?"

Signature goes here!

Bloodborne (very well may be the game of the generation), Infamous, and New Super Mario Bros U are the 3 best exclusives in my book. Bloodborne is by far the best game on any platform this gen imo.

I think the Wii U's library is pretty solid actually, it is doing exactly what Nintendo wants (as far as games) because lets face it Nintendo does not care about 3rd party at all.

Library's

PS4>XBOne>Wii U

Exclusive Library

PS4>Wii U> XBOne

They really took advantage of that one year head-start, huh.

More than the other two did in their first year...

I could do the same thing for Wii U games though. That number of exclusive titles goes from five to something like fifteen if I include titles in the 70's and low eighties.

As for your other reply, I'm pretty sure by this time in the Wii U's lifecycle it had: Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country: TF, Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros. U,  Lego City Undercover and  Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate as exclusives over 80. If we were to include fan-favorites like Wonderful 101, ZombiiU, and New Super Luigi U, we'd then have a total of something like nine decent exclusives by the end of March 2014.

I think the sales totals would disagree with you.  I see nothing on that Wii U list that would entice someone who wasn't going to buy the next Nintendo system regardless.

Unless you're talking about personal taste, which is impossible to debate about one way or another.
