Forums - Sony Discussion - The Time to Get a PS4 is Now

I can't say this for everybody, but if you like the soul series in specific, now would be the time I'd recommend getting a PS4.  Its no secret that my friend got the PS4 for me as a gift a year ago, but my plan was always to pick it up once Bloodborne or Uncharted came out.  Now would have been that time.

And while I can't say Bloodborne is better than the Souls series as it is not only too early for me to judge that, but they play differently as well.  While both are very similar, Bloodborne is a much faster paced game and emphasizes dodging over using a shield.  Though many Soul veterans were already use to this playstyle with quicker characters in the soul series, Bloodborne is pushing you directly into this approach.  This is the main seperation from the two games which I will judge more later on once i put more time into it.

What I will say is that Bloodborne has lived up to my expecations and that it alone makes the PS4 worth the price and investment if you're a souls fan.  Personally i wouldnt mind seeing a Bloodborne bundle.

I've never gotten into a souls game. Will it be any different if I get the game, say, 6 months from now? Will I be missing out on anything?

Is it as hard as a souls game? The gamescom demo was way easier than dark souls, for example. I easily survived until the boss in that demo.

If you have never played the souls games and youre hesitant on that, then id recommend picking up Dark Souls 2 for PS360/PC.  If you like it a lot then id recommend getting the PS4 in 6 months from now

But haven't you heard? This gen is the absolute worst gen of all time. People should just wait for the next and not buy any console.

For me so far it is, but ive not put enough time into it to say that one way or the other yet.  I was somebody who used shield a lot in the SOuls series, so its a big change for me with this much mobility, so its a pretty difficult for me so far. You do get more potions in Bloodborne, but there is also A LOT more enemies.  And they seem smarter too.  Like one of the fat guys heard me fighting somebody in the next area and then he came and followed me

If you have another console and/or PC, and are only playing PS4 for exclusives, it may be better to wait a bit longer.

But if you are looking to get into next gen, and are looking for a great, next gen only game, then PS4 with Bloodborne is definitely a good option.

Bloodborne is the first must have exclusive for either the PS4 and Xbox One.

After the Order 1886 I needed this.

This is the Game of Thrones

I did play DS2 a tiny bit; I liked it but I was playing 5 games at the same time and never really got into it. Unfortunately sold it a while ago for gas money (I was poor asf at that time). Bloodborne looks to be different from DS2; a little more faster paced perhaps? BB will most likely be a purchase for me when I get my PS4

I'll just play Snake on my scientific calculator. Let's be honest, I won't miss out on much. I mean let's be real here guys. When you take a step back, common sense has to take over at some point; and that's a fact.
