Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4 & X1 sales reach 3 million combined in UK

According to the Sony dichiaration, PS4 is undertracked this year, by around 200,000 (VGChartz have PS4 at 20.2M, but 18.7M by end of 2014, when we knoe that Sony have annunced 18,500,000).
We know that 100,000 undertracked is for the US, so, we have around 100,000 undertracked for the Europe (or other).

I don't see PS4 to be overtracked, i think that is spot on (if not undertracked, by a smaller number's, but still undertracked)

So, seem that XBO is overtracked, in UK, and very probabily even in Rest of Europe...

New estimates with the 3.3m for January 24th.

PS4: 1.8m min
Xbone: 1.5m max

What I used:

- PS4 1m / Xbone ~670k early September
- PS4 sold more in Oct
- PS4 sold more in Nov + Dec
- PS4 (guesses) sold more in Jan

So the GAP needs to be over 330k to be true... if you increase Xbone over 1.5m and PS4 below 1.8m you will have a GAP near or below 330k... so these are the closest min and max for PS4 and Xbone respectively.

PS. Fixed the PS4 number.

thats way more reasonable.
this are mine estimates

xb1:

1.40 million min
1.55 million max

ps4:

1.75 million min
1.90 million max

combined = 3.3 million :)

i really hope, we get an 2 million (when it happens) anouncement. that would give us a way better picture at the acutal ps4 sales in uk

The article isn't wrong though. 3.3m is over 3m, so they were right.

You were wrong by assuming everyone rounds numbers the same way, because clearly whoever wrote the article does it differently to you.

The article is cleary wrong... it is not 3 million and it is not for the end of January.

It is 3.3m for January 24th... one week before the end of January.

so the official number is 3.3 million for 24th of jan?

Geez so many people trying to belitte Xbox sales in this thread.

First of all,it's what i belive, and not a fact. Besides i think brits know a lot more what's going on in their country, than we do. As far as i understood, the interrest of Xbox is very low in UK,because that's what those friends keep telling me,and some of them work in gamestores. I don't say it is the truth. When it comes to my country(which is part of Europe) Xbox is more or less dead,10 to 1 in favour of PS4(but that's OT)

I ask a group of people who they're voting for and they might say BNP. Not an indicator of the country. I know plenty of people with an X1 an interest is very high. Retail execs have said it themselves.

Overtracked combined by ~ 400k then on vgchartz :/

Well, at this stage, given we are three weeks behind still, we have Sony's numbers to go by. Most likely there is some undertracking in the rest of EU to counter the UK.

Xbox is harder to say.

He's right they're overtracked by 400k because Game states 3m combined at the end of january, on the week ending january the 31st vgchartz had them at a combined 3.4m.

The article used the wrong numbers.

GAME said 3.3m at Jan 24th.

The source is GFK.
