What would you consider being the push it needs? I doubt they advertise it on TV or anything so all I can think of is bundles.

I think a bundle with Splatoon and MK8 would be interesting.

It made an otherwise "core" (not really, but close) genre into a fun and accessible one for all ages. Easy enough for casuals to play and deep enough for core gamers to obsess over.

Well that's what I was hoping for haha.

Even a game-specific Direct would be nice to get the core Nintendo fanbase on board (who are the ones supporting the Wii U anyways). Any sort of advertising is key at this point. I know they've already begun with in store advertising, which is good to see.

To be honest though Mario Kart probably wouldn't sell half of what it does without the the Mario characters.

That said, good on Nintendo for trying a new IP.

I don't see it taking off in a huge way, but at least they're trying.

Considering the sales of the Wii U, I don't think any game on the platform - including Splatoon - will be a major influence on the gaming industry in the same way that MK was.
