How the hell do I find where to go next? There's no freaking map. There's no waypoint, am I supposed to just search around?

I am beginning to really dislike this game. I don't understand what all the hype as about.

Yeah you have to find it yourself, no hand holding. It gets annoying but when you know where to go it becomes awesome to take all the shortcuts and right paths to your destination like a pro. What part are you lost at?

Git gud.

If the previous games are anything to go by, It helps a lot if you memorize every location of locked doors / blocked paths you pass by. Usually they unlocked after beating the bosses. But yes. It is really just you in a scary world. You have to find your way by exploring and paying attention.

I beat the first boss. Then walked around and fought 'til my weapon was useless. Started the game over because I couldn't repair the weapon or get a new one.

They said I could repair the weapons in the dreamworld.... WHERE?

I beat the first boss once again, don't know where to go. So frustrated with this game and it's stupid loading screen.

Anyone else feel dissapointed when you beat the giant sword dude in the first area only to find out there is not a single item in the section hes in. Got clobbered once or twice by him and wasted my vials on nothing lol

Same.  Here I was expecting something good, or a shortcut. But no. Just the satisfaction of kicking ass.

Yeah if there is one thing the series could afford, without compromising it's difficulty, is at least an optional segment that explains or shows a few things that will need. You can repair them on a bench inside the house in the dreamworld. I had to look that up.

You need to have patience to play the game.

Try to memorize the areas. If a NPC says you can reapir the weapons on the dreamworld then that means exactly what he said. Just go there and find it, take your time. Be patient.

Yup being patient is the key.

... And getting good at the game of course.

Nope, first souls game. I enjoy challenging games, I just hate not having a map.

And i hate minimaps, especially with markers.

It's not a open world, you're not gonna get lost. Watch some let's plays find out where to go and give this game a chance. You will not regret it.

Well...

You can use a item to say where to go but it is better to find yourself.

Inside the house in the Dreamworld there is two points that looks like a Library... one is the vault chest and the other the Repair/Upgrade weapon.

If you beat the first boss (the Priest and not the Beast) then you just need to open the gate with the key dropped from him... the gate is on the place you fight him lol... now if you beat the Beast then you didn't killed the first boss it is only for get more Insight to release more items/tools in the Dreamworld.
