Forums - Sony Discussion - Why do so some gamers have a problem with God Of War III: Remastered?

Do you have a problem with it?

Yes 123 31.38%

No 269 68.62%

Total:392

Because the game already did its job on PS3.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Because these people hate games and other people. Just imagine how much pain it causes them to see other people getting more games.

This, lol

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Even though I'm a believer that Sony should at least added GOW ascension in it, the reality is that releasing GOW 3 remastered is no different that releasing a late port to another console after so many years. It has been done worse before considering Wii U got late port of games at full price, at least this guarantee a better version for $40 for those who care about performance o haven't played the game before.

Can you give examples for the Wii U?

batman arkham city, deus ex revolution, ninja gaiden 3, need for speed MW, mass effect 3, darksiders 2, watch dogs.  those were released at full price and in some cases ran worse than the ps3,xbox 360version.

I have a problem with ALL remasters. I bitched about the OOT remaster. I bitched about the WW remaster. I bitched about the LOU remaster... I just think the whole idea of selling the same game twice is a terrible waste of time and resources and only has ONE objective... to make money.

Having grown up during the 8 and 16 bit era, rarely if ever did we have a remake or remaster. If we did, most of us would have ignored the damn thing and it would have ended up in the bargain bin for $9.99 a few months later. I want NEW games, with NEW tech and NEW story lines. I don't want FFX or GOW3... I want FF15 and GOW4.

The only reason for remasters is to make money. The story has been told. The creators vision is finished. They've moved on. There is no artistic integrity left in the project. It's JUST a money grab.

Aren't all games released to make money?

Yes, but when a new game launches, there are artists who are creating works of art and expressing themselves. There are story tellers spinning tales for generations to come. In short, there are people invovled in making the game who are doing it because they have a passion for the art behind it.

When a remake happens, it's just cold hard business. The original team has either disbanded, or moved on to something else. What you have is a bunch of suits, looking at quarterly reports and ordering old IP to be touched up by a contracted team of people who work like studio owned song writers, living pay check to pay check.

It's just a chase grab.

Sony will make money from it. People who like it will buy it. People who don't like it won't buy it. Simple. Why create imaginary problems over a Remaster that has zero effect on the production of any other title?

This is something that puzzles me. Gamers on this site, who don't own a PS4 yet and never intend to buy one, apparently have the most problem with God Of War III: Remastered. But why is it so? The remaster is perfectly fine for many reasons.

Firstly, it celebrates the 10th anniversary of the series. I mean, that calls for some sort of release right? As they didn't have a new God Of War game, they ported the best one in the series.

Secondly, God Of War III is an older game than most other remasters. Its 5 years old. Lets compare that to other remasters.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition - 1 year old

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition - 2 years old

Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition - 2 years old

Saints Row IV: Re-elected - 2 years old

GTA V - 1 year old

Dark Souls II - 1 year old

God Of War III is a much older game than these remasters, which didn't get any backlash for being new.

Thirdly, many people are complaining a lack of exclusives on P4 and saying that God Of War III: Remastered is coming to fill up the gap. But till March atleast, PS4 has the most exclusives in 2015 of any console. The rest of the year doesn't look blank either, with Everyone's Gone to the Rapture, Until Dawn and No Man's Sky coming. There's also a possibility of Rime releasing this year. That could be that PS4 has the most exclusive games in 2015 of any console.

Because it's ANOTHER remaster. If they really wanted to celebrate the tenth anniversary they could have released the trilogy remastered. All of these games are fully available on the PS3, which if the PS4 had backwards compatibility this wouldn't even be a conversation that would happen.

All the remasters have had backlash, this isn't the first, nor will it be the last.

You know why I won't buy a PS4 at this point? Because most the good games can be played on a PS3 for a fraction of the cost. I care about how good a game is, not what it looks like as long as it's still appealing. A remaster doesn't make the game any better, unless they actually fundamentally change something. Add in something that makes it more streamlined, or remove something to do the same. Add in parts of the story that weren't clear. Figure out a better button scheme. Anything like that. For the most part, all a remaster does is make it look better, perhaps run a bit smoother.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

A game does not release unless the publisher is certain it will make money from the game. Doesn't matter if its a new game or a remaster. To think its all peaches and cream with new games but just dark clouds controlled by corporate suits with remasters is pure ignorance.

After reading this thread and some comments on IGN I actually think I will buy the game day 1. Not neccessarily because I want to play it (though I actually haven´t played it on PS3) but to simply give it one more sale and maybe, juuust maybe upset someone enough to have a heart attack ^^

They could care less about people hating this on forums, people keeps buying them and they will keep making them you like it or not. And boy do they sell good and are profitable, just check GTA5 and Tlous sales :D

That's fine, and that wasn't up for debate. They question was, "Why do so some gamers have a problem with God Of War III: Remastered?".

I will let you know though, it's not just this site or forum lol. Far from it.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
