This is something that puzzles me. Gamers on this site, who don't own a PS4 yet and never intend to buy one, apparently have the most problem with God Of War III: Remastered. But why is it so? The remaster is perfectly fine for many reasons.

Firstly, it celebrates the 10th anniversary of the series. I mean, that calls for some sort of release right? As they didn't have a new God Of War game, they ported the best one in the series.

Secondly, God Of War III is an older game than most other remasters. Its 5 years old. Lets compare that to other remasters.

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition - 1 year old

Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition - 2 years old

Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition - 2 years old

Saints Row IV: Re-elected - 2 years old

GTA V - 1 year old

Dark Souls II - 1 year old

God Of War III is a much older game than these remasters, which didn't get any backlash for being new.

Thirdly, many people are complaining a lack of exclusives on P4 and saying that God Of War III: Remastered is coming to fill up the gap. But till March atleast, PS4 has the most exclusives in 2015 of any console. The rest of the year doesn't look blank either, with Everyone's Gone to the Rapture, Until Dawn and No Man's Sky coming. There's also a possibility of Rime releasing this year. That could be that PS4 has the most exclusive games in 2015 of any console.

This may be part of the problem...

I found that the images they showed so far seemed to lack any kind of anti aliasing, which I find strange for a PS3 game remake... but it's not released yet, so this may be fiexd by the time they release it.

ratchet and clank is another exclusive coming out this year. i'm also willing to bet sony announces something at e3 also. the ps4 has more exclusives than both consoles easily. ps4 is fine for this year, especially because the multi plats are top notch this year along with all of the exclusives.

I dont have a problem. Im not the one recieving it.

For one it's not a remaster. It truly doesn't look any different outside of resolution. Most people arent flattered with those other remasters either. So not sure what point you are trying to make.

I have a problem with PS3->PS4 remasters in general. Yeah, i get it that a lot of Wii and Xbox360 owner didn't had a chance to play these games, but enough is enough. Last gen games still look fine and it's especially true for this game. I could comprehend the motivation of bringing PS2 games to HD (and they were packed in a collection with a budget price), but making a FullHD release of HD games is just money milking.

I'm just confused that is the third one getting the remaster, intead of the first one.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Because people like to complain for no reason

Probably because the 1st and 2nd one got remade for ps3/vita already.

Because it's an old game for one thing. It can be bought for like $10 now. It doesn't need a remaster.

It's a reason for them not to include backward compatibility.

If they remastered God of War I-Ascension that makes more sense.
