That part I disagree with. It will likely win critically dueto actually deserving it or blind fanboyism but it will not outsell Tomb Raider. It's on two platforms and the last one sold like gangbusters.

Perhaps may the Xbox version alone but Tomb Raider as a whole is a bigger franchise than that of Zelda.

No, it really isn't. Zelda outsells Tomb Raider on a consistent basis. Just looking at the highest selling games and even the mid-tier sellers, you can tell what the bigger franchise is.

Anyways, the last TR sold 1.86m on the 360 (and Definitive Edition sold .32m on the XBO). So let's just say it'll sell 3m on the XBO and 1m on the 360 (which is probably more than it will actually do, given Titanfall barely managed to do that last year when the 360 userbase was more active), that's 4m which Zelda could very well outsell (Wind Waker for the GCN sold 4.6m and Zelda U is more accepted by the fanbase).

I think out of that list Zelda will win both critically and commercially. Although I think all of them will perform very well in both categories.

What? xD

The 2013 TR did not do gangbusters.  It did ~5.7mil on five platforms if you count the remastered rerelease, which isn't even fair.  If you look only at the original release, it sold less than five mil, about comparable to Wind Waker.  If you compare the two franchises as a whole,  Tomb Raider has lower average sales, lower peak sales, and half the total sales.  In every way, it is a smaller franchise.l

Right. I was being very generous to make my point. If it was PS3/PS4, I think it would be a more interesting discussion.

Well that doesn't matter because he's not even talking about 2015 in general, just the games. So not sure why he's using Bloodborne.

Well a few reasons.

Bloodborne is a huge new IP exclusive

Bloodborne will be releasing when there is no other big game being released in the same week

Bloodborne is coming to a console that has sold over 20 million consoles and is showing no signs of slowing down

And coming off the heals of great reviews for both Demon's Souls & Dark Souls, Bloodborne may just take it a step further......

IMO

Exactly, wtf? Why are you comparing new IPs too old IPs?

Uncharted is most likely launching in March 2016 where there will be barely any big games.

Your post and reasons make absolutely no sense. It doesn't make sense why compare Bloodborne too big games like Zelda and RoTR?

Zelda is going to sell over 5m most likely. Maybe more if not that.

hard to tell with bloodborne, you know, there are a lot of factors that makes the ps4 sell so well, it's hard to determine which portion can be allocated to bloodborne. Zelda can have all the legs in the world, it won't help more than SSB or Mario kart 8 have done, in other world, almost insignificant. Rise of the tomb raider is releasing on xbox 360 as well, also releasing on the holidays, another game difficult to determine what portion of tomb raider contribute to the xbox one's sales

Actually, in sales the two series are pretty comparable.  Unless you are only comparing the last release for each which is unfair since Skyward Sword was released at the end of the Wii when the system's rep and marketing were at their absolute worst AND the Wii U had already been announced.  Can't take the numbers in a vacuum.

And don't bring the handhelds up, they're not the same.

Thats pretty invalid since the Wii's instal base was much larger than the PS3's.

oO that´s what I call optimistic. After all statistically there has never been a Zelda that outsold the mario kart of its generation.
