Noob question ,

I got  a question regarding AA option in game. At the moment i am using MSAA x8  for any games thats required. Just want to know its worth putting it on msaa x 8 or is 4msaa better option? To be honest i tried both but i can't tell the difference.

If you can't tell the difference between 8x msaa and 4x msaa then I would put 4x msaa cause you will get more performance/framerate out of ur games

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

@captain yuri -- but is there a big difference thats worth the loss is frames?

4x MSAA is the better option ...

@fatslob--- is there a huge difference though?

Depends on the games but yes, it should be noticable

@captain yuri -- so if its8msaa i should expect to see little to no jaggies on the screen and smooth surface?

Pretty much

It's hardly huge ...

Getting twice the samples per pixel against 4X MSAA isn't worth it. It's the same reason why nobody uses 2x MSAA compared to no AA ...

I was wondering this myself with Titanfall recently, been wondering if it's worth going 4xMSAA or 8x, then there's TXAA which I know nothing of.
