Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo and mobile company DeNA form alliance, will make apps featuring Nintendo IP

Only the Nintendo haters would say this is a bad idea.. and actually think Nintendo will be moving their main ips on to mobile.. when they already said "only new original games optimized for smart device functionality will be created"

Quite an odd thing to say when its the fanboys who are upset about it =P

I'd really hoped Nintendo tried with their own product first. Nintendo's creativity do not belong among free "game" apps. The casual smartphone gamer moves on from fad to fad (see how badly Rovio and Zynga are doing today).

I think HTC, ASUS, Panasonic, LG, etc. would love to partner with Nintendo to make their own tablet and smartphone.

Samsung would have loved making a mobile for Nintendo. An Android mobile with Nintendo games exclusive from other mobiles (but accessible to other Nintendo Systems) would sell really well. Maybe similar numbers than the 3DS.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Nintendo will show how you can make smartphone games with a lot of substance and great controls, I'm looking forward to Rayman-style platformers :).

I legitimately think it's impossible to create a platformer with "great controls" on a touch device.

The Touch Kirby games kinda do it.

I could totally see that on iOS.

I should have said a traditional platformer, such as rayman or super mario brothers. I'm not entirely sure I consider kirby canvas curse as a platformer but wikipedia says i'm wrong.

To me the announcement sounds more like a multi-platform paid subscription game streaming service.

Nintendo moving towards the invetiable future of cloud gaming? It would be a smart move but I believe this to just be some kind of new account system. After they discontinued club nintendo they were talking about a lot of things, such as consumers who buy more games getting there games for a lower price etc. It my mind it'll be something similair to ps+ with a few unique features, whether it is required to play online on future consoles I am unsure. But a loyalty system will be integrated with it I am sure.
