I think Microsoft is no longer interested so for consoles. They said that that want to focus more on PC and other windows stuff in the next few years. Many players know this.

How will many players know what you think? Seriously, they even want to transport the Xbox name to PC. How anyone can get the idea they are no longer interested in consoles is beyond me.

Because they never really were interested in consoles.
The Xbox brand has some value with its strong identity to gaming, hence moving the brand to platforms that are actually strategically important (PC and mobile) is a good idea, and of course it removes the stink of GFWL. The brand has pretty much no value for other entertainment media, though if Xbox becomes the PC protal for all MS controlled online entertainment content then that can change with time, but only if the Xbox brand becomes uncoupled from gaming consoles.
The Xbox people in MS of course care a lot about the Xbox console, and at least some of the senior corporate folks do too, otherwise it would be dead already. But on the whole MS is not very interested in the console at all, with some people thinking it is a distraction that takes attention away from what is actually strategically important for the company.
OT. With the moving of Uncharted 4 to 2016, I think Xb one has a shot this year of taking the lead in the USA. But it will require a further price cut (because Sony will cut the price of PS4) and some aggressive bundling. Just releasing Halo 5 without taking any other action won't do it. Yes PS4 has other exclusives, but nothing with the marketability of Uncharted 4. And nothing much to grab the attention of 360 owners looking to get into the new generation this holidays and being open to consider all console options.
