Forums - Sales Discussion - Can the XB1 take back the US crown?

It's now mid March of 2015.  Microsoft has pretty much thrown everything including the kitchen sink at the XB1 sales problem.  Price Cuts, De bundling of Kinect, Price Cuts, Bundling of software, and Price Cuts.  And yet, they still can't win the US on a consistant basis.

I recognize that Microsoft will pull out all the stops to try and win November and December each year.   And by doing so, narrow the gap in yearly sales.  But, here we are in March, and the price of the XB1 is $50 less than the PS4, and yet the XB1 is losing in the US by a pretty good margin each month.  That is just in the US, as in the rest of the world, it is not even worth discussing.

So, after trying almost everything, what can Microsoft really do to take command of the US market?  Or is it even possible?

It is near the end of the end....

I think Microsoft is no longer interested so for consoles. They said that that want to focus more on PC and other windows stuff in the next few years. Many players know this.

With Halo 5, the console is again strong. But what is missing are Japanese games and JRPGs such as "Dragon Quest Heroes",  "Persona 5" and "One Piece" on Xbox1. I think in the US, they have to work more again. In January and February, the PS4 was the best selling console with ease.

Microsoft should reduce the XboxOne price to 250 dollars, because many important multi title on ps4 better resolution have (metal gear solid 5, witcher 3 ect)! My view: USA will eventually thrilling, europe and japan has the xboxone already completely lost.

Of course it's possible, $200 Xbox would obliterate. Not going to happen but you get my point..

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Yes, all you have to do is bolieve.
OT: pretty much what you said will at least help. Would be nice if MS realized there are other territories other than the US and UK.

Yes they can. If you mean take the lead in sales in the US. (King implies to me a form of domination)

Right now the gap is 650k or so. And will be around 850k by the end of the month. Do I think they can overcome this? Yes. If PS4 remains at 400 this holiday with XB1 getting Halo and other major titles I think it can catch the PS4 in sales by the end of the year. I see the PS4 build up to a 1.2 million lead and I think in the situation I described XB1 can catch it.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

Make a Halo bundle for 300€ and USA is again Xbox country.

The XBOne doesn't have a sales problem. It's doing good. PS4 is just doing better. Bundling software for free since the launch window, cutting Kinect, dropping to $350.....that's all just a coincidence.

It's obvious that the price is the problem. PS4 is only winning because it is cheaper and that's what people care about most. As soon as X1 becomes cheaper it will easily win.

Oh wait.

I think whats happening is Microsoft knows the X1 isnt going to compete with the PS4 and they are expanding their userbase for software to the PC market.

You're right. I see it that way too.
