I think (hope) there'll be a head-to-head part between Cameron and Milliband after they get the interviews and questions for both out of the way

There is no head to head section. It's basically Paxman then audience for Cameron. Then it'll switch to Milliband.

That'll only take an hour though (based on the current rate) and the show's 1hr and 30mins. We'll soon see anyway

What kinds of things do you want?

Labour are Centre Left, Tories are Centre Right with Left spliced in. Lib Dems are Centre. UKIP are racists. Labour usually wins cities, Yorkshire and Scotland. Tories the countryside.

Last election number of votes:

UK: Tories 10.7m, Labour 8.6m, Liberals 6.8m

England: Tories 9.9m, Labour 7.0m, Liberals 6.1m

How I wish Scottish independence had gone through... closely followed by Welsh to give me MY independence.

And people wonder why Labour politicians were the major mouthpiece of the "NO" campaign.

Could you tell us which color belongs to which party on that map?

And I hope Cameron get's ousted. Really can't stand him.

I'm not so sure that's a bad thing. A lot of "intelligent" people out there think they know "what's best for everybody". For example, based on your posting history, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be too happy with the results if only the University professors in the UK were allowed to vote

Wasn't one of the defenses against Gordon Brown something along the lines of "he's the most intelligent Prime Minister in recent history" (I guess by somekind of measure in academics or IQ, or something).

I agree.  I dont think you can stop stupid people voting and you shouldnt (Ka-pi was saying they shouldnt).  I wont get into the politics of it but I'm pretty sure Labour would lose the most under any system that checked intelligence or knowledge of the political system before counting a vote, probably the tories the second most and liberals 3rd.

btw... University professors intelligent? lol.  Academic intelligence is over rated.  I believe they belong to the liberal elite. of we know best (hell... its their job to be like that).   Now thats a group I despise.

Labour wouldnt lose the most, the tories would.   the torie voter are too old and too religious.

Wow, Milliband is crumbling under Paxman's questioning a bit more than Cameron did.

Maybe Cameron should have just gone for a head to head debate...

Christ that was nearly a train wreck. He looked on the verge of bursting into tears..

Miliband did better than I expected. He mostly held up against Paxman, and even got a couple of rounds of applause (which Cameron didn't).

Cameron still had the better performance, but by a much smaller margin than I expected.

Yeah, on reflection, I do actually thnk Paxman was a lot more personal against Milliband and thought the last couple of questions were actually a bit out of order and overly personal to the verge of bullying rather than of any political merit. I wonder if paxman was getting revenge after the "you're not THAT important" jibe.

Just watched the "show".

Cameron and Miliband both looked bad against Paxman, but I think Cameron came out of it with his dignity intact whereas Paxman got personal with Ed.

If only Cameron had the balls to go 1 on 1 with Miliband. Thats what the people want to see...

As I said earlier, I actually think Paxman crossed the line with Miliband.

However, I don't agree with these debates at all really. They truly allow gloss to become the most important thing in our political system. I'm sorry, you've had 5 years to judge the coalition. You had the previous 13 years to judge Labour. If you are happy with either, vote for them. If not, do some research and stop relying on "talk offs" to make your decisions for you.

Something so insignificant in the grand scheme of politics as a 90 minute TV show, should not be able to influence a country's governance for 5 years. It shows just how fickle and blind our population has become.

The biggest thing that sticks for me though. Hardly ANYBODY will be voting for any of the people we will see on TV. Our political system is not geared up in the same way as the US. You are meant to vote for a local representitive for the house of commons. But people think they're voting for a party. They should axe the leaders debates. Instead have discussions of party politics, and then local TV coverage should have exposure of all the candidates standing to be MPs.

If they want this TV debate nonsense, then change the voting system so that I vote for a party, rather than someone who will be standing as an MP in your local area. The only thing I know about my local MP is he is a dinosaur who knows he has a safe Labour seat, so never has to lift a finger.

Official poll reveals Cameron won. 56% vs 44%
