Forums - Microsoft Discussion - ( Rumor ) 2K Football making a comeback on Xbox One and Windows 10 with crossplay!

Thinking of it now
Nintendo should make a american football/baseball game
they do own an MLB team so they probably make a deal with the MLB
US football would be nice as well

If this has the NFL license it could be a pretty big deal.

Also 1st party NFL games are allowed? I didn't know that.

Maybe Nintendo should consider an NFL Superbowl game for their console with a side-mode that has Mario and company.

That's what makes this sketchy to me. I've never heard of this being the case before. I thought that only MLB games had this clause in their exclusivity contracts.

Even without the real names, like PES for soccer back in the days give it a week if not less for the community to put the edited team and player name versions available to all for DL. Then the only thing missing will be the official jersey and team logo maybe... But honestly I've never seen a true fan of a sport be stopped by a game without the official license if the said game is better....

Doesn't EA have exclusive rights to the NFL roster, though?

American rugby game? I thought it was football game. The FIFA one.

Nintendo actually had Retro Studios working on an American Football game for the Game Cube before EA support for the system was confirmed.

Looked pretty good actually.

This is awesome news.  I don't own a PS4 or Xbone,  and I don't want to have to.  I game mostly on my PC with my Wii U scratcing my Nintendo itch, but EA is not making sports games for either platform.

This is exciting news if they get the licensing! 2k usually makes better sport games than EA!

It wont be a NFL licensed game.

Kid of ironic that the exclusive marketing deal for Madden was with MS. I wonder if that will change if there is actual NFL competition on XB one. It's probably an argument in favour of keeping the exclusive marketing deal because after all where are PS4 owners going to go for their NFL fix if not with Madden?

But I actually thought this was going to be a football thread (the round ball variety) and it was going to be MS's major play to try to massively boost market share in Europe with a high quality football exclusive that appeals to all those Eurocommies. I guess not.

Does EA have an inperpetuity licence with NFL for THE multiplatform NFL game? It is pretty goof positioning for 2K to establish a high quality franchise and perhaps look to snag teh multiplatform NFL licence if/when it comes up for renewal.

Based on the screenshot Joe Montana tweeted it looks like an unlicensed game. I'll be passing if that's the case.
