This perfectly sums up most of these threads, and I hope that the N3DS wins in the US in 2015 now just to see it happen and how the people react and try to downplay it with whatever excuses they can come up with.

"Oh, but the 3DS has been out for a long time.", etc is probably what people will try to say. Lol.


I'm sorry but I ain't downplaying the 3ds.  I've said many times its February sales were excellent but that doesn't change the fact the ps4 has pulled off this feat.  They both deserve credit not downplaying.

I doubt 3DS will ever beat PS4 in USA ever again. Lol. And in 2015 PS4 will just dominate.

I never said that you were downplaying the 3DS, but it does seem with the way that you are wording your sentences you want the 3DS to seem lower in this situation. 

"Yeah, 3DS had great sales I guess, but LOOK AT THESE AMAZING PS4 SALES and look at how it beat the 3DS" is basically what this thread sounds like.

Like I said, i'm sure if it was the N3DS that won in the US (aside from this month) people's reactions would just be "Oh, but the 3DS has been out for a long time and has a bigger install base so it's expected". The only difference is that this is a Sony console, so for some reason this is a bigger deal? I don't know.

Well, both are different products so comparing them is like comparing go karts and automobiles but, good for PS4. I really don't know how this system is selling so much on brand power alone. I feel like if this generation of teens had gone through the PS2 era, there's no way it would be doing so well. The gaming industry, software wise, is just starving. We shouldn't have to wait this long for classic games.

Handhelds are no longer relevent because of smartphones. But 3DS did well despite competition.

After this gen is over PS4 > 3DS + Wii U. 3DS has impressive numbers. But PS4 numebrs are in another level.

Did it sell well this generation? I think it sold ok. Would have been much lower without the Nintendo tactics of releasing revisions every year.

oh yeah, i dont doubt that. Im far too impressed With PS4. PS4 is the pokemon of japan lol!

Its just funny how people think 3DS is doing bad, hell even the vita aint so bad when you think about it :)

If 3ds sold more I'd point out it was because of the new model and that would be valid.  I fully expected it to win. It's thread worthy especially considering this is a VG sales site.  I'll say this for the last time.  3DS deserves praise and do does the ps4. It's that simple.
