Looks like you need to do some research...

Edit: and this thread is for Kirby as a Whole btw, Triple Deluxe looks good in the sales department

it's a little game developed by a few people, probably profitable.

This is why I absolutely detest when people only look at raw sales numbers and size it up to some arbitrary number to judge whether something was successful or not. The type of reasoning that could deceive one to think a game like Shovel Knight was a failure because it did not sell as much as Call of Duty.

It isn't.

Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Youkai Watch, Monster Hunter, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy are.

If HAL made a new ip they might be top tier in Japan one day.

The West is bigger and more important than Japan anyway (market wise).

Even MM 3D is on track to sell Kirby numbers in Japan.

Are You Crazy? You listed only the top Franchises in japan lmao, Exclude those 6 only franchises that sold more than Kirby this gen was Wii Party U/Luigi Mansion/SSB/MK/Mario 3D+2D Platformer

So Kirby is one of the best selling franchises in japan. This is FACT, dont try to spin it.

"Even MM 3D is on track to sell Kirby numbers in Japan." No its not even close.

And yes i know the west is bigger, but that doesn't mean much when Kirby is amoungst the top seller in japan

And you're saying HAL couldn't make games like that?

Give Kirby a 4 year break and make him return as a 3D platformer and I'll guarantee you it will be one of the best selling Kirby games.

Except it wasn't made by a small team. There were around 80 people working on this game (not including localisation teams or people listed under special thanks).

That's more people than the development teams of the 3 Prime games.

I'm surprised Captain Toad sold more than Kirby.

Im not talking talent here. Im arguing Kirby is one of the best selling franchise in a major market.

And besides, Kirby has many spin offs. The mainline games are spread out...

2013: Triple Deluxe

2011: Return to Dreamland

2006: Squeak Squad

2004: Amazing Mirror

2000: Crstal Shards

One year ago (Jan. 30, 2014) Iwata promised sharholders that Nintendo would make more "software title that enriches the user’s gameplay experience when playing alone with the GamePad".
Hence Kirby, Yoshi, Project Guard & Giant, Captain Toad and additions to other games (Touch control in Bayonetta).
