Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Kirby is "Not" A Flop... Update: Rainbow Curse Showing "Balls" :)

Does that mean they were/are considering a FE game for the Wii U? I don't have a 3DS and havn't played FE since the GBA so I would love to see an entry for this console.

This game still isn't out in Europe, I really want to try it. I don't think we are going to see a huge increase in sales on May 8th but the game will definitely have sold well overall

They probably were, but unless the entire Wii U market (particularly in Japan) takes major upswings and/or the SMT x FE crossover game does EXTREMELY well, a console FE game is very much unlikely.

Sadly, I don't think the tracking of this game will ever be corrected.

Nintendo is the only company that can t have a flop no matter how few sales-

If Nintendo can make money selling a few hundred of one of their brand titles with an amazing art style (I m sure it was not cheap) then they are using sweat shops to produce their games

since when is 50,000 sales in launch week in the USA good for any game?

I guarantee this Kirby title is a flop as far as Nintendo is concerned- to bad too

Can any person site and info that gives the aprox cost of one of Nintendo s "budget title" will they please let the forums know- I am pretty sure it cost Nintendo much more than many peole think to develop the quality games they produce- even a flop like Kirby because it was still developed to be a quality game- it just did not work out this time-

since when is 50,000 sales in launch week in the USA good for any game? ★ Well again it depends on what type of game, Kirby RC for this statement is FINE Because though it sold 50k First Month (not week), it sold higher its second month.  Its Total is currently over 110k, with estimated  shipments in NoA overall over 150k. There is also the fact that its not close to selling.

Ex: Kirby Triple Deluxe sold 42k First month, so it flopped/bombed right? WRONGGGG, its now over 350k by end of Dec lifetime in the US with obviously 400k+ shipped.

I guarantee this Kirby title is a flop as far as Nintendo is concerned- to bad too ★ But its not, Its obvious  Nintendo Sold over 250k to retailers WW without Europe/Australia yet, this game just demonstrated legs in the US (52k⇒58k month to month).

Only mistake your making and others is you count out games too early, especially when a good number of nintendo games have legs, Kirby being one of them. Lifetime Kirby RC will be over 400k Sold, im guessing 500k for now

It did 52k in the launch month and another 58k in its 2nd month, putting it at 110k, people are always way too quick to call flop. Nintendo games are known for having legs and don't sell massive amounts up front. It's similar to Tropical Freeze, it debuted at 130k in Feb 2014 and by Dec 2014 was over 440k.

This game will go on to sell over 500k lifetime worldwide, not a flop for a low-budget title.

Those are horrible numbers no matter how you look at it-  If Nintenod could make money selling 200k games they would be pumping those out non stop because the risk would be far lower and reward far higher-

W101 and Bayo II were funded and published  by Nintendo not developed by them-  But yes unfortuatnley they were flops-  both very high quality games that should have sold far more and prob could have with the right mareting behind them-   but we will prob never know

IMO it is an insult to Nintendo to think 50k is anythng but a bomb or that they only spend a few penny s to develop any of their brand games

Even though the game did not turn out like they hoped- the art style is still amazing and I m sure it was not cheap to make that game oterwise they would have made it much longer

Yeap, its unfortunate. Talking kirby only, Kirby Triple Deluxe was i believe slightly ahead in the US first 2 months. It went from 42k (First Month) to 85k?

Oh its over 350k SOLD, making at least 400k shipped to retailers.

Kirby Rainbow curse known sales are 110k US, 70k+ Japan. Add in restof NoA and shipment #s (which is sold for Nintendo and its definitely over 250k WW. I wait intill end of this year to say what it'll be lifetime.

Its guaranteed to be 400k WW Shipped at this point.

We have plenty of people on this site who say that even Nintendo's big budget titles look lesser than PS3 games, and Nintendo games have fewer bugs and glitches because Nintendo games in general are much simpler and less complex than the stuff that other developers put out. So Kirby should be profitable with 200k units sold worldwide.

I mean, come on, clay is not that expensive.
