Wii U is far below what GameCube was at this point in time and many of its system seller franchises have already launched. You expect sales to miraculously pick up and surpass 20 million? Even the PS3 still puts up a fight with the console.
all depend on price drop.
But i think 18M is more accurate.

Why hasn't VGC updated Dreamcast numbers to 10.6 million yet? Do they not want people to know Wii U has yet to surpass that console?

No idea. The archive hasn't even updated the PS4 sales to 20.2 million yet.
Fact: It's more than 4 million behind the GameCube at the same point in their life cycles and that gap is widening every month, not shrinking.

That and maybe price cuts.
I hope the next nintendo consol doesnt have a gamepad... they should aim high spec wise, and to keep price down, they shouldnt flaunt it on gamepads, but instead just normal controllers.
They need to make sure their next consol is atleast equal with the ps4, performance wise, so they can get 3rd party back.
