90 million consoles is closer to your prediction than 0 million. You raise interesting points about the big publishers though. I'm really hoping we see indie games get even more popular in the next little while to combat what you're predicting. We need to remember as consumers that we hold the power. The big punlishers make their money from us. If they wanna nickel and dime us, we can take our money and spend it on other games. |
indies will play an important part. basically what im predicting is that Nintendo will be the home of indie developers.
The timing of legendary thread of man bear pig and your post are suspicious. Lol. Please remember all playstation home consoles crossed 100 million mark (PS3 will end 90 million though).
bunchanumbers said: I'm actually predicting that PS5 will sell 0 consoles. Because there will be no console. PS5 will be a streaming service that will have access to streaming movies, games, tv shows, music, and the like from one app. It will be on almost every phone in existence, along with TVs, computers, tablets and even on Nintendo's next console. |
Dont think so, even netflix is still renting physical discs to peoples home. Their old bussines model

But there are other services that are digital only. Hulu and Prime Plus come to mind. I'm predicting this because Sony is putting all their eggs in the digital basket. Vue being their latest service. It will all end up under the PlayStation brand. Either that or they will put it all under the PlayStation Network brand.

lol are you serious? There are PLENTY of casual games on that list. Assassins creed, call of duty, fifa, DESTINY. those are all very casual titles. one of my jobs iis that i work at a family owned video game store that sells all kinds of games and consoles from the past thirty years, and i cannot tell you how many people come into the store who casually bought a ps4 just because it has call of duty and assassins creed, games they play very casually. my other job is that i tutor little elementry school kids in math, and their favorite game is destiny. go figure.im just not sold here based on your list that the ps4 appeals to more hard core than casual gamers. make a different argument and i might agree.

That doesnt mean they cant release physical media and consoles all of the sudden and piss of a chunk of gamers like when MS tried.

hmmmm, I didn't see any wink
Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

The way all playstation home console sells since 1995 (except early PS3 era) makes other system enthusiasts sad. I can see that. It has the games. Its has the support first party wise, third party wise and indie wise and it sells well. Playstation is part of mainstream culture. So. Yeah. Keep making threads like these. Afterall everyone has the right to express their views.
