Forums - Gaming Discussion - Dark Souls II or The Last of Us?

I need a new game and I'm stuck between two, I can only afford one for now. Both are in my amazon account and ready to go I just can't choose, which one will be best?

(I have played Demon Souls and Dark Souls, the soul series is one of my favourites, but I've been dying to play TLOF sicne it's release)

Hmmmm well you seem to like both so I'd go for whatever one is cheaper tbh, and it doesn't really matter which one since both are cheap on last gen and available on next gen. One good way to get a cheap copy is to make an American PSN account and order a game code off of Amazon's digital store, which sometimes sells games like these for quite cheap. TLOU is good but I have not played DS2 so can't give a good opinion on it.

I'm Sorry if you took my comment the wrong way? I meant it in a way of getting my attention and captivating me into the whole story. No need to bring up the Order here. Never brought it up and Never would have brought it up as i didn't care enough about the game. Again i'm sorry if you read that the wrong way, but chill out and try to understand what i wrote.

I thought you might not mean it meanly I just didn't want him to get the wrong idea as many have mentioned them in the same vein.  I would have quoted if I was calling you out or something.  Don't ask me to chill.  The last guy that did that I started I started a Civil War with...

Yeah, i understand that. I should have written why I enjoyed the game and gone in depth with it.

Get Dark Souls II.
Far more value due to content. If you wait for Scholar's edition next month, all the DLC will be included bolstering it's value even more.

No muss no fuss friend.  We both seem to enjoy the greatness that is TLoU and Dark Souls 2

I am Iron Man

Play the last of us, on hard or higher difficulty, disable listen mode (see through walls) as it makes the game too passive.

difficulty makes ressources more scarce, thus, you cannot just play it like a shooter, you have to use stealth, and often avoid the clickers when you can.... It's one of those game that I preffered my 2nd and third playthrough over my first one, as i refined my strategies and always notice new things!

the movie commenta make no sence the cut scenes are around 2/3 minutes each and they are separated by lenghty gameplay segments, everything complement the rest...

the only problem I can see is that this is very different than the souls games, the hardcore dark souls player I know irl hated TLoU for some reason.... So you maybe better off with ds2 or get both used on craigs list!

Since you've been waiting so long I'd get the last of us, and imo its the better game of the two.

tbh I found TLoU on grounded more impossible than any Souls games I've played.  I had to give up on it and just go to survivor.

Please tell us what consoles you own, last of us on ps4 certainly dropped in price while souls 2 is a new ps4 release. On the ps3 side both versions are cheap now tough the last of us is more in demand therefor more pricey

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

If you want my opinion, Dark Souls II.

I haven't played it, but I have played the first Dark Souls, and it's one of the best games I ever played, having a great combat system, a huge world to explore, and of a course, a hard, yet extremely fair challenge.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
