Forums - Sales Discussion - The Order 1886 sales nearly 600,000 copies in 2 days. #SmearCampaign=Failed

600k FW doesn't tell anything if the game doesn't have legs. It will sell 1m-1.5m LTD with luck, if it does better than that, I'll be surprise.

Pretty sure Sony, just like every other business, focuses on money. If The Order makes a good enough profit... It might see a sequal. If not, then it won't. The reception for The Order dampens the potential of it being a viable franchise to continue on with.

The reception Sony is looking for is the ones from gamers. I know personally nearly 50 people demanding Sony to do a sequel to this awesome new IP. Sony takes risks with IP, that's like saying they won't give David Cage another chance after Beyond TS had mediocre reviews and only a million in sales. Sony focuses on diverse experiences in its IPs. Not just safe dude bro games like MS. Ranging from mainstream, to innovative, to niche. This first week sales and the response from people who actually OWNS and PLAYED the game  guarantees another chance for R@D. And I could t be happier!

Again, Sony is going to look at how much money The Order profits, and then decide from there if they want a sequal for it. It's that simple, really. Sony isn't going to support an unprofitable franchise.

This is one of the saddest threads I´ve ever seen on Vgc.

It's not a smear campaign. The game wasn't good.

It is good, people just argued it wasn't long enough.

I dont think you have played the game.

The thing that seems to be hardest for everyone to understand is that a lot of people really, truly loved the game, and a lot of people truly did NOT like the game. Seems like most people refuse to admit the other side exists without bias.

What part about it can be considered good except the graphics?

The story? No, just no. Gameplay? Generic shooter gameplay. Characters are a joke as well.

The game ends before it really starts, making it almost seem like they cut out a lot of content at the end. DLC will come, no doubt about that.

Its the same thing with Destiny. Horrible game, sold into hype.

Destiny is a lot better. While not the great game expected from the legacy, it is still good.

The Order 1886 is a great game. These numbers are well deserved and im proud of Playstation Nation for making up their own minds and not listening to propaganda reviews that clearly fear The Order is a threat to one of MS's only two heavy hitting exclusives (Gears of War). This game is its own beast. A graphical and technical masterpiece, brilliant setting/atmosphere, and a damn good cover shooter with some pretty ingenious weapons. Firing around cover has never been done this good before. The angle of the gun and the reticle is fantastic. Shortcomings aside I think the game is a damn fine first effort that has set the graphical bar almost impossibly high for this gen and that's a good thing. With sales like this in 2 days (it was released on Friday, numbers go in on Saturday) a sequel is all but confirmed.

Just like Naughty Dog did with Uncharted 2 I fully expect Ready at Dawn to expand the gameplay systems and refine combat (hopefully have both VAMPIRES and werewolves) and even add a multiplayer (fingers crossed for a non campaign co op where we get to play as anyone from the Order). Sony has a new AAA monster on its hands. I can not wait for more from this IP.

600000 copies out of 20 million user base its not good thing

I absolutely loved the story (I honestly can't think of a better story I've played this gen that wasn't a port from last gen) and the weapons (pistols did seem soft, though).  And the 4 main characters were all pretty great as well, IMO.

I really hope there is DLC, but I was going to sell it, which makes it difficult to decide.
