Forums - Sales Discussion - The Order 1886 sales nearly 600,000 copies in 2 days. #SmearCampaign=Failed

Has anyone played Vanquish, Gears or Uncharted?

Those are TPS but you are always running, taking cover, flanking, moving to a new position, riding a vehicule in the case of Uncharted climbing and jumping at the time as shotting and in Vanquish you don't even need to take cover if you master the sliding system. There are arenas in these games and not just corridors.

The Order is a shooting gallery, you just wait in cover until an enemy shows is head and shoot it, thats 90% of the shooting in the game, is not fun. This is a valid criticism and not a "smear campaign"

Funniest thing here is people going after other users and accusing them of not playing the game

Smear campaign? LOL

Yeah that itself is an actual smear campaign.

It's gonna drop hard in the upcoming weeks. And then it'll end up in the bargain bin so fast it's gonna make your head spin.

I've played all those games.  The shooting was better in Gears, not sure about the other two (always thought it was overrated in Uncharted).  The Order has the best weapons out of all of them, though.  And while the areas in the order weren't huge, they were hardly corridors the whole way through.

I'm sorry you didn't have fun with it.  It sucks when you buy a game and you feel you wasted your money.  I really enjoyed it, though.

I just hope it outsells Sunset Overdrive.

Reminds me of the time when Heavenly Sword was lukewarmly received and a lot of PS3 owners were defending it. Now that the PS3 have an amazing library of exclusives, and the need to defend the system no longer exist, most of those same people accept the game was mediocre. I expect the same thing happening to most of The Ordor's "lovers" at the end of the PS4's life.

I got the platinum trophy today on my second play through. I paid €40 for this game so I've basically paid €2 per hour. Got my money's worth and I'll definitely be booting it up later this year for another go.

People pay 10 quid to watch a 2 hour movie. I bet they don't complain about value for money there.

They do if it's a bad movie.

The only original weapons in The Order were the electric gun and thermite sure Uncharted has generic weapons too but Uncharted is grounded in the real world while The Order is a sci fi/steam punk with werewolves, vampires and Nikola Tesla in it I was expecting more creativy.

Regarding the handling of the weapons it was good and solid but the gameplay was just aim and shoot no need to flank or move except when the annoying shotgunners appear which can almost kill you with 2 shoots you may leave cover and go back a little but thats it.

That is definitely going to happen.

Thanks jlmurph!

Pretty sure Sony, just like every other business, focuses on money. If The Order makes a good enough profit... It might see a sequal. If not, then it won't. The reception for The Order dampens the potential of it being a viable franchise to continue on with.

The reception Sony is looking for is the ones from gamers. I know personally nearly 50 people demanding Sony to do a sequel to this awesome new IP. Sony takes risks with IP, that's like saying they won't give David Cage another chance after Beyond TS had mediocre reviews and only a million in sales. Sony focuses on diverse experiences in its IPs. Not just safe dude bro games like MS. Ranging from mainstream, to innovative, to niche. This first week sales and the response from people who actually OWNS and PLAYED the game  guarantees another chance for R@D. And I could t be happier!

Quoted for nothing but the truth.
