It is good, people just argued it wasn't long enough.

I dont think you have played the game.

What part about it can be considered good except the graphics?

The story? No, just no. Gameplay? Generic shooter gameplay. Characters are a joke as well.

The game ends before it really starts, making it almost seem like they cut out a lot of content at the end. DLC will come, no doubt about that.

This. It's a real shame such a big fuss was made by gamers about the length, it kind of shields the game from its real flaws. It's like Driveclub where a big fuss was made about servers, everyone just assumes that's why it scored "low". But if you read the reviews, not much was made about online issues, but rather deeper flaws in the game itself.

Same situation with The Order. Yeah it's short as hell. But that's ok if the game has good elements and strong replay value. I cannot think of a single redeeming quality of The Order outside of graphics, and it has literally 0 replay value. You're exactly right about generic shooting. And even though there are a couple weapons you get to hold a few times in the game before the narrative rips them away, the laughable AI and terribly small selection of enemy varieties more than cancel them out.

I just read someone say there is a seamless transition from gameplay to cutscene and how this is a "next gen feature". LOL. The cut scenes you cannot skip are the loading screens. Max Payne 3 did this last gen as well, only it eventually let you skip the rest of the cut scene when the game finished loading.

You can make up whatever you want about loading.  Now as far as replay value goes I only keep games that I intend to replay.  I'm keeping the Order.  Cinematic=/=non-replayable.  Linear games like TWD, Heavy Rain, Beyond 2 Souls, Uncharted, Gears, and many more are definitely replayable.  It's like revisiting a favorite film.  And no that's not saying it's all cutscenes because there are very long stealth and shooter sequences.

Surely a solid launch. It's from here on out where the game will likely struggle unless bundled.

You list things as fact that are opinion.  I LOVED the gunplay.  I wish the game had been longer so I could have used them more.  Why is it so hard to understand some people really liked the game and thought it did things well?

This coming from the guy who is asking for PSN profile names just so he can check and see if people posting different opinions than his own have even played the game.

As if the only way you could not agree that it's a great game is that you simply did not play it.

Pretty obvious you cherry-picked one thing I have said to back up an arguement that is in no way even relevant.  I had already stated the game had flaws.  I also stated there were valid opinions for those that like it as well as those who didn't.  You can't seem to grasp that some people really liked the game.

Don't bother.  He is determined to undermine everything about Playstation.  The guy says Driveclub is a fundamentally bad game and that the negative criticisms weren't about server issues.  Then he turns around and says The Order is being criticized for far deeper things than length.  Then he says the Order was overhyped (despite all the negative criticism pre-launch).  He tries to be subtle about it but from observing his posts he seems to want to paint a bad picture for every exclusive or at least drive down the perception in any small way he can.

User was warned for this post.

For the record, I don't think there was a smear campaign.  I just liked the game.  I don't remember having to defend how much I liked Advent Rising 10 years ago when it came out despite getting blasted in reviews.  That game was awesome, I don't care what anyone says.  :)

There might be a sequel, but most likely not exclusive to PS4 and with a much, MUCH smaller budget. It was simply a catastrophic release and sales will drop off fast.

Sony owns the IP, so if there's a sequel, there's no way in hell that it isn't a PS4 exclusive.

Well, there were rumors that Crytek tried to sell the Ryse IP to MS so it's probably not out of this World that Sony might be persuaded to let go of the Order IP. Or we might see it end up on smartphones :).

I got the platinum trophy today on my second play through. I paid €40 for this game so I've basically paid €2 per hour. Got my money's worth and I'll definitely be booting it up later this year for another go.

People pay 10 quid to watch a 2 hour movie. I bet they don't complain about value for money there.

I believe there will be a sequel, and that the sequel will be pretty good.

Sony would be dumb not to make a sequel, Red Dawn showed they master the console, much of the assets needed for a sequel are already done. They just need to refine gameplay and story, and change some decision makers inside company, like the idiot that decided to go with that aspect ratio.

But there was no conspiracy.
