currently sitting at 89 in the meta.

known competitors and my reason for why they won't reach 89 on metacritic:

forza 6: will be grilled for not being a horizon

halo 5: made by 343 industries.

fable legends: free to play.

bloodborne:  horrible graphics and framerate.  too big a departure from "souls" games.  hard.

until dawn: quicktime event feast.  hayden isn't actually naked.  campy.  once was a move title.  probably not even worth mentioning in retrospect.

splatoon: lol.

starfox: rail shooter.  everyone hates those these days.

xenoblade:  this is the one i'm afraid about the most,.. not that the game will be good but no one will play/review it except the most adamant nintendo fans.

zelda:  the "open world" will be overhyped and thrashed for underdelivering.

other?: please specify exclusives i didn't list that have an honest chance of being critically acclaimed.

to everything above add a healthy dose of reality that game reviews are all jaded and at least 1 or 2 reviews will be pure click bait meaning that all scores are lower than last gen expectations.

The fail list:

screamride: failed

the order 1886: failed

uncharted 4: failed to launch.

You seem to underestimate Zelda Wii U. Nobody expects it to have the size of Xenoblade.

MGS5: not indie, too many graphics, too Japanese

Solid forecast but I'm waiting on the next 8 bit hipster indie to come out before making a projection.

you underestimate the jadedness of reviewers.  zelda has been in the low 90s for its last few entries.  subtract 5 points (minimum) for being on 8th gen hardware and my prediction is sound.

mgs5 is also not an exclusive which isn't a bet i'm willing to make right now.  we may see a critically acclaimed multi-plat although to be honest i'm not sure that will happen either. 

So you think SSBU and SM3DW would have a Metacritic score of 97 if it was on 7th gen hardware?

There is no chance of that happening... Zelda and Uncharted will definitely be higher than Ori.
People really think that hype influences game reviews much, but games like destiny and watch dogs got mostly fair reviews even though they were hyped like crazy.
Even Zelda SS which is considered to be the worst 3D Zelda still got a score over 90.

Why did other Nintendo exclusives like Mario for example still get the same good scores then? There is really no sense in saying something like that.
