Forums - Website Topics - In 5 days, VGChartz latest sales will be a month old

Do you even use VGC for sales anymore?

Yep! They will come eventually 53 51.96%

Nah, forums are where it is at 49 48.04%

Total:102

It's sad to see the core of the site be neglected like this, we all signed up for vgchartz to discuss its weekly estimated sales. Now it's becoming an ordinary gaming forum sigh.

They used to be updated quickly? Can I get any seal of approval?

Yes a long time ago i think 2 years ago sales was updated everyweek in thursday and sometime even thuesday

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

When I first joined the numbers came out Tues/Wed, and the only time it got a bit slow was over Christmas, and even then it was like a week late, not a month. But as others have said, its the community that keeps me here, and its a good coagulator of sales data from all the official trackers, publishers and console manufacturers themselves.

I believe that ioi is following a new technique in posting the numbers, He will always have a missing week each month until NPD data is released. This way he will ensure that numbers are close are possible when posted by end of month. This will also quiet down some of the peeps who keeps screaming about under-tracking/over-tracking thing.

I am sure that 21st Feb data will show up before NPD.

Just my two cents, I might be wrong though

Back in 07-09 I remember US and Others were updated BEFORE media create and famitsu. Japan used to be the last numbers we waited on. Others were done on Monday or Tuesday, NA tues or wed, and Japan Thursday or Friday. Back then people talked about sales a lot more, now by the time we get numbers they are old news so we focus on resolution and metacritic.....

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Sounds like it was a much more interesting forum back then...

It was if you like data and numbers. People were doing graphs with trend analysis, discussing in depth factors affecting sales, discussing sales of games from previous gens, people were doing sales predictions by actually using data and weighing factors in. Now it's like well this game sold this much last gen, it was good and people like it so I will predict a little better next gen, it's seems these day people pull most predictions out of their asses without actually doing any analytics.
