Not always the case. Europe was Monday, America was Tuesday, and Japan was Wednesday. That was the schedule in 2007/2008.

VGchartz has consistently under-tracked Playstation for the longest time. They are taking so long because they are trying to figure out which part of their algorithm/data is screwing up.

VGC should just adopt a policy of updating sales data on a monthly basis, a few days after NPD (assuming ioi is still able to get his hands on NDP data), instead of leaving people guessing and wondering. If NPD comes out on the 2nd Thursday after the NPD month ends then VGC data should come out the following Monday. It can still be presented in a weekly format, just release 4 or 5 weeks of data in one hit.

My god those were the days. I remember I used to come home from school on those days and first thing I did was check this site. Was hardly ever let down for numbers either.

Same as the OP, I used to visit VGC for sales numbers, even long before I bothered to register.
But lately, for the past year that I have been registered, the sales numbers became much more unreliable and untrustworthy, so I just stay here for the forum. Forum is done in an excellent manner, and I can learn a lot of information from it.

I don't even bother taking sales numbers seriously. I understand that they are guesstimates, but all trust for any of the numbers was lost when they started guessing sales of unreleased games, as well as being off in hardware by large percentages. The only sales numbers I believe are ones from official manufacturers/publishers statements, as well as from more trustworthy services like NPD, ChartTrack, GfK and Media Create.

Before I joined, I mostly checked the site for sales numbers, but once I actually created an account, I cared a lot more about the forum and the conversations that took place within them. Getting new numbers is still cool and everything, but I find the forums to be much more engrossing in general.
