Forums - Gaming Discussion - Final Fantsasy 15 is CLASSIC FF

Final Fantasy Trademark isn't being TURN BASED , it's an RPG that reinvents itself with every title, even minus the more action focused 15 , What's FF signature battle system ? you mean the turn based from 1-2-3,  simple atb from 4-6, job system from 5, atb with a twist from 7-8-9, turn based from x, real time move system from xii or weird atb from XIII ?

FF signature is to reinvent itself with every game.

prett much this as FF fans are so split and divided , give the game  a chance

ALSO FF Fanbase is sorta like Sonic , vry fractured with different wants

loool shift , what i am saying is that the battle system changes

the combat system till FFXIII was still turn based even if you had job system like in FF 4,5,6. You still had to wait for your turn before you could pick an action. In fact since 4 till 1 3 its really turn base system from the FF1 with a twist. In saying that , what makes FF is their like able story. Its hard to explain, but every FF story as a unique charm to it, that just draws you into the game till the end.

Hack and slash can work if its done right. Like crisis core combat system was quite similar to FF15. It was fun but it got stale as all you do is press one button. if you get the ultimate materia , then all you do is press one button and you will do instant 99,999. But there are games where it work like tales and star ocean games. From what i saw, it looks like theres more to then pressing one button like you do in crisis core and KH so who knows, theres a possibility it will be great. After all i enjoyed all FF including 13

Soon, CoD will release as a 3rd person shooter with cover mechanics. Then Activision will wonder why it didn't sell as well. Still a shooter in a military setting though right guys?

FF signiture is to reinvent it's story, world and how it's magic works, not how you basically play the game.

Hmm, pie.

So the new Mario Party is classic Mario?

Classic in its core, non-traditional in its battle system.

I don't really care. I've never been interested in FF until XV, and the battle system is why.

Almost thought this was a troll thread... I understand what you're trying to say here, but I have to disagree.

I prefer turn-based RPG since they require more thought and strategy if you want to do well. I usually don't like hack'n'slash games since they're often just button-mashy, and that's not what I think of when I think of "Final Fantasy".

That said, I do enjoy action-RPGs if they're slower paced with difficulty scaled up to compensate. That makes it more about strategy, instead of just impulse decisions.

Yes, Classic FF is to reinvent itself. Let's all not claim that turn based is the core of FF.
