@1st bold, if only that were true, then 99% of all JRPGs would actually be good, too bad it couldn't be further from the truth.

@2nd bold, have you watched the video? Repeatedly pressing square to attack is most certainly not an attack, magic etc menu.

Oooh so you're one of those guys that doesnt do research.  The ommited magic from the Demo because the effects were not ready for public viewing.

You unlock a Summon in the Demo (Ramuh)... thats why that option isnt available.

Why should I do research? If they make the game look crap in the demo then that is their fault, not mine.

See thats just it.  The game doesnt look like crap in the Demo.  Those who have played it - including long time FF fans - have LOVED IT.  They are saying it FEELS more like a FF game than the last several entries into the franchise.  And thats without even including Magic.

Also everyone getting Type 0 for the Demo has already done plenty of research.  Its been mentioned in virtually every interview that the Demo Build is a MUCH older build than the current game is, which isnt even the final build.  They are also keeping much of the Demo under wraps to avoid spoilers.  In fact we arent even supposed to know that Ramuh is the Summon in the Demo.

...uhh...ill just put my favorite quote of all time here.

There hasn't really been 14 main series games though, the MMOs no way count as mainline FF games and really should have been named something else. Also, they have already tried something different, it was called FF12 and IMO it was the worst battle system that anyone has ever put into a game. They aren't good at trying new things like that and should stick to what made the series great in the first place.

Funny that you'd say that, considering how radically different VIII is from VII.

Oh come on, you know I mean the battle system. If the story stayed the same every game... well that really would be boring

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

Can't they at least give a shot to a 1060p 60fps classic turn-based RPG? Sure we have almost the most recent classic-based turn-based RPG Lost Odyssey, but why aren't we getting more of that epicness?

Lost Odyssey still remains the modern/classic turn-based RPG, and the fact that we're not getting anything like it is really, really disappointing in the video game industry when devs are trying to hard to "revamp" and creating new ways of gameplay.

IMO it does look like crap. I'll make my own judgements when I get the demo in a couple weeks, but so far it is looking like a big disappointment.

Considering the universal praise the demo is getting, I'd say it's more your close-mindedness' fault than theirs.

Simple answer to that... Persona 5

If the previews for FFXV were bad I'd agree with you, but so far critics seem to love FFXV's combat, many are saying that FF has grown stale and that 15 is exactly the kind of fresh idea the series needed to rejuevenate itself. I'm not a big FF fan so I can't really comment on rather or not I think the series has grown stale, but personally I think XV looks great, the combat I'm seeing in that trailer you posted in the OP looks about as good as Witcher 3's combat, and Witcher 3 is one of my most anticipated games in a long time.

Are these the same critics that give COD high scores every year? Yep, they are really qualified to see when something is going stale...
