Yesterday Hideo Kojima granted us a good look on the special edition PS4 that will be released in Japan to celebrate Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and a few more details are emerging from the episode of Kojima Station.

As reported by Gamekana, the special edition might actually be released outside Japan if there’s enough demand for it.

Another quite interesting detail (translated by MGSForums user Rogue Agent) is very difficult to notice at first sight. The bottom of the console seems to be black, but it actually isn’t. It’s actually an off-black that was created especially for this console.

If you look closely at the video, you might be able to notice it yourself. Kojima-san did not go into further detail about the color, but it seems to have a slight bluish hue.

That would be great for sales. It might even give a Destiny-type boost on hardware.

I think Sony should start bundling TLOU:R digital code in with every single PS4, including bundles.

The white PS4 from the Destiny bundle was nice, but this one is sexier especially the controller. SCEE and SCEA should definitely consider releasing this bundle because the Destiny bundle definitely boosted sales and MGS is strongly associated with Playstation.
