Monster Hunter 4 61 80.26%

Ahoy MH players, of the "ultimate" editions  of MH3 and MH4, (after all, the West never saw vanilla MH4) which doth thou think is better, and why?

We talking about 3 Ultimate vs 4 Ultimate? Because I doubt anyone here has played 4.

I haven't finished it yet, but so far I like 4 a lot more. Seems like a lot more gameplay options, and I've had a much easier time making weapons and armor sets. I only had to fight Tetsucabra three times to be able to make the full Tetsu set, and Nerscylla twice. I've been able to spend more time experimenting with skills without the need to fight the same monster over and over. The story is also more interesting...if still a little bit simple. I like being able to travel between villages too.

The only thing I really prefered from 3 so far is the farm...but I can manage without it.

I would like to know as well, since I have yet to enter the Monster Hunter Universe...

Ultimate; I amended the title so as not to confuse people.

I haven't played MH3U but from what I've heard the climbing in MH4U blows away the underwater sections in MH3U.  I do love the climbing and mounting mechanics, hope they are here to stay in the series.

Well, MH3 has better areas.
That said, it also has the shit water areas.

MH4 has the charge blade, which I enjoy tremendously.

Both are pretty similar, but the lack of underwater areas really make very positive difference for me. MH4 also has more content and better online.

So, MH4.

Thanks. Sorry, need further clarification. Wii U or 3DS version of 3 Ultimate? It's important because of the online.

The Wycoon and Item Melding (unlocked in Cathar) do everything the farm did and more.

Either, since some people will only have played one version.

So far the Wycoon has only done the same things as the farm for me, and I preferred the ambiance of the farm itself over just telling someone to multiply items for me...even if it's the same thing in the end. I thought it was funny seeing one cat plowing while another works under the beehive.

If the options increase later, I'll probably change my tune though. I'm only on the island so far.
