Lol They're making a Rock Band 4? I bought 3 for like, 20 bucks and it was filled with trash music.
But that's beside the point. No one is going to shell out 300 dollars for more fake plastic instruments. That train left the station in 2009.

Not unprofessional at all! After all, what came first: 3rd party devs ignoring Nintendo? Or Nintendo fans pretty much only buying 1st party Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles? Mad World, Beyonetta, etc. All suffer due to the old adage we all hear from Nintendo fans: "Nintendo had the best 1st party so why should i care about 3rd party?" The devs have heard loud & clear. |
Mad World wasn't actually good though. As for Bayonetta, I couldn't find a copy in stores.

So what? other games can sell 100m and it won't change the fact that bayo 2 and zombi U sold well so far. "Only Nintendo developed games have sold well on the system." Completely wrong. Not only there are several full third party games that did very well, it is expected that nintendo titles will do better when third parties don't release many games. |
Bayonetta 2 and ZombieU haven't sold well at all. Both are under a million units sold and if that's what you call good sales, you have certainly lower expectations than most of us here and more importantly, than the publishers.
Also I would like to know which third-party game has done well on Wii U except Just Dance because most of the big ones have sold only about 300k units, and many have sold even less than that.

Ratios mean nothing when there isn't history to back it up. Rock Band on the PS2 sold about the same as it did on the PS3, despite the much larger install base of the PS2. Something similar could happen with the Wii & Wii U, but we won't know now. |
We really need more users like you Skullwaker.
I chose Guitar Hero over Rock Band, because the Rock Band devs didn't treat Wii users as well as the Guitar Hero devs. The way the song list across discs was handled on Wii for example: the Rock Band devs said that it wasn't possible for the song list from one disc to be used with all their titles, and blamed Nintendo for it. Guitar Hero devs made it so the songs could be accessed by all titles unless licenses restricted them, and gave Wii users additional features using DS connectivity and the Wii's motion controls.
Rock Band is published by EA who try to avoid Nintendo at every chance possible, Guitar Hero by Activision who still support Nintendo. Says it all really.
So I guess they are right that the audience is not there.

because it's not their money. when it's your money, your investment, your time and effort, your ability to eat and pay the morgage on the line,.. the risk assetsment evaluation becomes a much more meaningful decision than, "but i want it". |
Yup. But no matter what they do, people will bash them for it. It's just so easy to type something than to take a huge financial risk.

As opposed to contradictory fiction? |
Not really. They just used the wrong words. THey were fine until the whole historically larger audience part. Lets be real these games usually do good on systems with the biggest install base. Wii U aint it, not even close. Its a damn if you do damned if you dont. If they would have kept it 100% real some people still wouldve cried 3rd parties are evil. Hell there are people in this very thread trying to crap on EA and EA has nothing to do with this, so you can clearly see who mind is already made up.
Cloudman said: So the Wii U doesn`t have a hardcore market AND a casual market? Then what market does it have then?! please don`t tell me Nintendo only market.. TwT |
Well, some people may even say Nintendo doesn't have a market at all right now and is kinda stuck in the middle of things, I guess.

1. EA isnt involved in this new Rock Band. People here really need to actually read up on this
2. Activision aint much better unless you consider Just Dance Skylanders adequate support...guess its better than nothing.
Well it was pretty pointless buying any Rock Band/Guitar Hero on any platform apart from the Wii last gen for my money. And if players are STILL going to be wired to their consoles the same can be said of the PS4 and Xbox One. The Wii SKUs of both of those franchises were much better because you weren't tethered to your console. We're in the 21st Century for gawd's sake, there's no excuse for not having a wireless guitar ffs.
