Interview with HardcorGamer

Daniel:  The Wii U is a really hard call for us, but from our initial research the audience is not there yet, and I would be really psyched for there to be this public outcry of “Where is the Wii U? I will absolutely throw money at you and I wanna buy it and preorder it!” and all that.  And then we start working on it.

If Nintendo was doing his job, they would have convince them to do a WiiU version.

I would have to agree. They have already wasted tons of money publishing and financing titles like Bayonetta 2, LEGO City Undercover, Hyrule Warriors and Monster Hunter.

If they hadn't been so foolish with their spendings they could have gotten third party support that actually matters. Like Rock Band.

Around the Network

well they made a survey to come to this conclusion, so the statement is technically not wrong. (given it's been evaluated correctly).
WiiU doesn't have the casual market. Otherwise it would be much closer to the Wii in terms of sales. On the other hand, PS4 and X1 don't have the casual market either, but their marketshare is much higher and this was probably reflected in that survey. (Even more if it was an US-only survey).

We need a code blue, STAT! Gamers just got injured by the truth!

Nintendo really effed up with 3rd party support this gen (Lucky my PS4 is my main platform ), they started well with COD, AC, Batman etc.

it's the main issue they should rectify for the next gen. That and bringing their online platform into this decade.

All my plastic instruments are PS3 anyway .

I get that it's probably because they're taking a risk with this game, but at face value it's a dodgy decision because by nature the Nintendo audience is suited to these kinds of games. Maybe the next Guitar Hero, if that rumour is also true, will go to WiiU. That franchise was biggest on Wii, and Activision is obviously big enough to take a gamble.

Around the Network

Well, I can give them that I have no interest in the game.

TBH I lost interest in rock band when GH flooded the market on Wii.

So couldn't care less about this one. Real core third party games though i miss.

Even if this game was on the wii u, it would still sell horribly. The era for music games is gone.

No one is going to pay hundreds of dollars for instruments (no backwards compatibility). Sool I seethis as a lose either way.

They are working on backwards compatibility with the previous instruments. It's not 100% confirmed yet. Apparently it's more likely for PS4 as the PS3 instruments used a USB dongle to connect where-as the 360 versions connected directly so getting compatibility with XBO might be a bit tougher but they're getting help with microsoft on that aswell.

Predictions (Made July 2019)

LTD: PS4 - 130m, Switch - 110m, XBO - 52m       2019 : PS4 - 15m, Switch - 18.8m, XBO - 4.8m        2020: Switch - 22m (Peak Year)

I guess the controller issue is not a problem.

I still have a hard time believing that people will dust off their instruments on these systems to play this series. If the wii was a fad from that era, this series doesnt really stand a chance in my opinion.
