Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nvidia announces Shield console, $199, more powerful than Wii U, plus 1080p/60 fps streaming service

This is quite interesting. I wonder how much support this will have! Also, 1080p 60fps cloud subscription service. How interesting that Nvidia is doing this too

About as much as the original shield and shield tablet.

Lots by nvidia, very little by actual users.

Do u buy discs or is it an all digital console?

Somebody answer this person please, but if it's just the latter, I will not get it, I have a shitty internet speed.

I don't see a disc drive on any of the pictures I've seen of the console. Looks like it's digital and streaming only.

Ahh shucks, thanks anyway.

Crysis 3 running on an andriod console?

Yep, they had a demo of it on stage. 30 fps, not sure on resolution. Graphics looked better than the 360/PS3 versions to me, but obviously not as good as Crysis 3 running on a high-end PC.

wow hey! just remember this is  Nvidia were talking about, with there K1 processor, this seems a tad bit more logically.  well keep my eye on this. Ever seen they released the k1 I was waiting on them to put it into something for gaming (preferability the shield)

Yea you are probably right. I didn't think they would come back to this gaming hardware scene but they are

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The PS2 is a 90's console apparently

Anyway, the streaming service sounds interesting, but the shield console is likely going to be pretty niche.

That was a very painful conference.

I like how he tried to denounce 150ms delay as though it's impressive. I used to play Mobas on NA servers at 150ms, it's unbearable compared to sub 10ms.

I think I will wait until all details are out before I make any statements.

They have to get in the console market somehow. Games have better AMD optimization as a result of all titles being ported from consoles. I see why Nvidia is doing this. Will it be compatible with all Android software by default?

This could be big, but won't. Being able to stream any game on 1080p/60fps would put this over PS4/X1 in eye candy.

I mean, this whole reveal made 1% of the hype of a 1st party Ninty/Sony game would do. At least this in my perception.

OBS:
WTF is this Nvidia team? They look like all gamers stereotypes put together. God they are awful.

I like the main guy with the beard, but i know him personally so i'm probably biased :p He's a nice chap.
