1080p/120 when most PS4 games strugle to get to 1080p/60 ?

Who bought a PS4 to play games in LAST-GEN graphics?

PS4 is clearly underpowered for VR. Sony knows it, everybody knows it.

Same situation as with MOVE. And we know what "fantastic" games it used...

it has the potential for 1080p/120hz.  Very few games will likely use that but it's nice to know it's there.  I think it's good they set the ceiling high I mean it could be used next gen as well when 120hz 1080p could be the norm.

Price please. I'm guessing $300-400US.

Have they stated whether or not Morpheus will have any sort of built in tech to ease work load from the PS4?

Based on my experience with both Oculus models, 1080p isn't really enough that close to the screen and looking into the image rather than at the image.

120hz is nice, but what level of graphics are we realistically talking with two separate streams at a combined 1080p/120fps? PS2? Less than 1080 resolution and the experience suffers even more and if they compromise with the frame rate, hello nausea!

The experience with Oculus is very cool, but it is pretty much a novelty at this point. It is also cumbersome and pretty daft feeling to sit there with the headset on.

Next gen at 4k/120 and this will be ready for primetime, until then I will more than likely pass, and even then I can't see myself using it much unless something happens and the headset is super light and comfortable.

If this is priced at 200$ it could be the next big fad in gaming.

Those are really nice specs and I hope that the cost isn't too high when it launches.

Imagine how bad a 1080p/120fps title would look on the PS3. That's an 800%+ performance increase over its standard :p So while the visuals of VR games that opt for the full 1080p/120fps will be a rather significant step down from the standard, it would still be a generational jump over a 7th gen VR equivalent. That's what you're paying for.

With those specs it's likely to be expensive. I'd say $350 with a game isn't out of the question.

I doubt this will cost a dollar more than $250 when released. I actually have it pegged for $200. The most expensive component in that thing is the screen, and that screen probably costs them less than $80.

I suspect when its announced it will have a standalone price of $250 or come bundled with a PS4 for $500. I also expect them to treat its launch as some sort of beta programme.

Something tells me it's going to be expensive and there will be some sacrifices made somewhere if it;s going to be dirt cheap.

I like what Valve is cooking up though and the team behind OR is looking decent as well which makes it two teams in one field and one in another.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

So I fully expect it to cost between $200 and $300 dollars and put out PS3 level graphics. But! If you don't me I could play GT with a VR headset running 1080p @120 fps and still have GT6 level graphics I'd buy it day one.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
